Hi everyone!
I am Phelan, working for Gameforge, and currently in Paris at Nevrax.
Why did the Gameforge buy Nevrax?
Gameforge already started publishing a clientbased game a few weeks ago. However, when we heard of the problems of Nevrax, we thought we take a look at the company. After we have visited, we were pretty sure that we are a perfect match. We have the platform to bring new users to the game, Nevrax has the people and knowledge to create and maintain mmorgs.
The post is rather short, plenty to do here in the office. While it is secured that the gameservers keep running, we have to take care that our Internet and phonelines are not being cut..
So long, we will keep you posted.
Phelan

Used bablefish, hope it makes sense for u :D

Ryzom developer Nevrax was twenty months long in the insolvency. Briefly before the final liquidation and smashing of the enterprise a majority of the developer team and all rights at the play were taken over of the Karlsruher Gameforge AG.
We spoke for this reason with Klaas Kersting, The Gameforge managed AG, and Carsten van Husen, Managing director of the Gameforge 4D GmbH, about MMORPGs worries.

Klaas and Carsten, present you nevertheless please times to our readers! Klaas: Hello! My name is Klaas Kersting, I is executive committee of the Gameforge AG, which I created still during my study. Carsten: My name is Carsten van Husen and I is a managing director of the MMOG daughter of Gameforge, the Gameforge 4D GmbH. Before my Gameforge time I was with the ISP Tiscali European-wide for the play section responsible - among other things for the Publishing of the MMOG BiosFear. Gameforge was so far rather well-known as Browsergame manufacturers. Of the MMORPGs one did not hear so much yet. Can Browsergames anenterprise really successfully publishen MMORPGs? Carsten: We gelauncht few days ago "Metin 2" on the German market commercial and the titles are a full success. In point times several thousand players are at the same time on-line. Therefore I would say that we supply the proof for it straight. Klaas: In the final result there is MMOG many parallels between Browserspielen and clientbasierten. The mechanisms, those over success and failure decide are to a large extent identical. Our enormous user basis and our know-how is the ideal Vorraussetzung. Exactly these considerations have us induced to go with the Gameforge 4D into the market "clientbasierte MMOG".

How are you with the resonance on Metin 2 and Herrcot contently? Carsten: Metin 2 was enthusiastically taken up particularly because of its innovative act ion components and the mad Community features. Herrcot is already hot expected - us zig enamels, which ask us for the status, reach each day. With the resonance we are very contently, in the final result even positively surprised, if one considers that it concerns with these titles plays, which could do nobody in Europe before quasi!

Metin 2, Herrcot and Carstens old "baby" BiosFear are all Korean products. There isn't Ryzom completely different product? In what respect does it differ from your other plays? What are the most out-stinging characteristics of Ryzom for you? Carsten: Ryzom is definitely completely different product. The world is evenly no classical Fantasy Middle Ages world separates the developers correctly somewhat break in to let and an innovative world with a completely own soul created itself. Thus there are evenly once no Elfen, Orks and dwarves and the typical character classes. Exactly the play makes so unique and the project so excitingly. Beyond that the play has many mad elements: The evolutionary, user-driven Gameplay, the styleful diagrams or the open Skillsystem are only some things, which make Ryzom a really fantastischen play. The manufacturer of Ryzom, Nevrax, was never profitable since the establishment. One says that with the project millions were already set into the sand. May the competitors of Gameforge the hands rub now and hope for it that Ryzom will drive also Gameforge into the ruin? Klaas (laughs): Nevrax made profit, is correct never that. There are infinitely many hurdles, over which one can with the Publishing of a title stolpern, only right if an investor, who understands neither the market nor the product always pressure makes. We are in the lucky situation that we most errors already once made - and hopefully from it learned. With marketing under our 4.5 million we bring along for active players and the infrastructure in technology and Billing, which we already developed for the Browserspiele, exactly, which was missing to Nevrax and to make possible the team to do what they can do best: Far ones develop good plays. The competitors, that rub now the hands, do not understand, what passes here straight and the chances, which are offered to us thereby.

What spielerisch and contentwise are your plans for the future of Ryzom? And which ring, the Community project becomes from Ryzom? Carsten: In order to say to it something concrete, it is early for the moment still too. We must provide only once in peace an overview of the situation and develop together with the team the new strategy.

To us times your vision says, like Ryzom in two years will look... Klaas: Ryzom is now already a firm size under the MMOG of the third generation. Ryzom will very strongly grow and the market position will finally get, which earns it. Gameforge was so far as Browserspielentwickler and more publisher well-known, Gameforge4D was so far a rather small shop and has only asiatic plays for the Publishing licensed. Now grow it suddenly completely duly and become the developer. Who is bad, it would say now that it from the development of aufwaendigen 3D-Spielen no notion have... How do you deal with this challenge? Klaas: We did not develop ever a aufwaendiges 3D-Spiel, that are perfectly correct. And if I would look for a developer for a MMOG, I would not go also to us, although we developed already large projects and are therefore not completely inexperienced. The "Saga OF Ryzom" team showed however that they can do exactly that: They developed an innovative, beautiful and original play, which runs and functions. We fit exactly here perfectly and can help itself mutually: We are good in the enterprise, in the Publishing and the marketing both from Browser and with clientbasierten plays, the Ryzom team in the development. Together we will move worlds. Thank you for the interview. One the further Bieter for Nevrax/Ryzom was the Community project Ryzom.org, which wanted to make an open SOURCE project from Ryzom. There one sees the addition at Gameforge with mixed feelings - they vary between easement that the play does not have to be stopped and disappointment the addition not to have received.

*sounds good to me*
