Random reboots and crashes

First off I'll list my system specs:
AthlonXP 2500+ Mobile Barton@ 2400mhz (12x200@1.8vcore)
Cooled via the power of a 10,000Btu A/C and the Thermalright Slk-800w/80mm Vantec Tornado @ 3000rpm
Idle 39c full load 44c mobo 20c
Gigabyte GA7N400 L1
1GB Kingston HyperX PC3200
SoundBlaster Audigy
BBA 9800Pro 128mb 400/382 Cat 4.8
Winxp Sp1
Dx9c

Ok now here is the problem: After playing the game for random ammounts of time ex: 15-180mins the game will reboot my system. I've tried clocking back my system to default speeds, but that doesn't work. I've messed with ingame settings alot all to no avail. This happens at random times and it's kinda annoying ex: Fighting a hard kipee and having it reboot only to come back to the game dead. Is anyone else experiencing this? or does anyone have a fix for it?

My ingame settings are 1600x1200 every option full with 4xaa and 8xaf enabled on my ati control panel. A note that Ryzom is the only game that has any sort of problems with my system.

Its cause you got AMD. Underclock your processor. They became unstable under constant persistent workloads like Ryzom.

I have helped like a dozen people cure themselves of crashing by walking them through the bios setting stuff by now. Of course not everyone can underclock their motherboard through the bios, but most can these days.

I run my XP2400+ at 120 MHz instead of 133 and ryzom performs very well with no crashes. If I run at 133 MHz FSB I get random crashes and reboots.

this is not a stability nor amd issue myfriend. You know what prime95 is? if not it is a program designed to find mersenne prime numbers, and is one of the most stressfull things you can put a cpu through. It is used to test the stability of the cpu/memory subsystem and will detect any flaws within. My system is prime stable, and runs every other game (farcry, doom3, nhl2005, gothic2) flawlessly for hours on end, so I know it's not a stability issue. Also reread my post, it clearly states that I have tried clocking back to default speeds/voltages and this did not fix the problem. Next time don't go bashing on a product just because you've had a bad experience with it.

Hi, I had similar problems. Random crashes. could play from 30 sec to a half hour before it would freeze. Never had it reboot my system but did have it lock beyond recovery with need to reboot constantly.
With all graphics turned down, not much difference. I changed many things and tried all the posted fixes....no change. Appeared to be an issue with Ryzom and my ATI card as when I could get back to windows without a reboot I'd have ATI driver error screens. Seems Ryzom is not ATI friendly. Word is that todays patch was supposed to fix that. ( i haven't read the patch notes yet, just word from another player)
However I put in a 32m Nvidia a few days ago...and my problems all went away. My system runs many other games with no issues at all with my ATI card.

Yeah its not an Amd - ATi Issue... I have played many other games (Lineage 2, SWG, AC2) and never had issues of reboots and crashes like I do with Ryzom. And I can assure you those other games put just as much of a workload on my PC as Ryzom. This is the only dissappointment I have with Ryzom so far. But I am hoping the bugs get worked out soon. :)

Just FYI:

I have an AMD 3200+XP
Radeon 9600xt
1 gig of Corsair XMS Series PC3200
On an Asus a78nx-e deluxe mobo

Do you have a linksys router? I've heard that they may cause game crashes.
