Spoilers in in-game channels

Folks, I don't know how the rest of you feel about this, but it's starting to annoy me. I held my tongue the first couple of times that I saw it happen, but since it keeps happening, I feel the need to speak up.
If you read or watch interviews with game insiders or in any other way find "spoilers" that aren't otherwise in the lore or other game material, please *DON'T* broadcast them in Universe or regional channels. Some of us actually want to participate in and watch the storyline reveal itself rather than having someone jump ahead and post the history of Atys, Homins and the Karavan. It's one thing to speculate. It's something completely different to say "so and so told the interviewer at ObsessiveGamerMonthly that Atys is really.... and homins are...so you're all idiots for following the ...." etc etc etc. My game experience is now tainted, but there's no need to ruin other people's as well.
I apologize if I'm being overly picky about this. But I think that it serves no valuable purpose to broadcast this stuff in the game. If you *really* want to know, you can look up the spoilers and interviews yourself and hopefully keep it to yourself as well.
Sharing the actual lore, stories and speculation, on the other hand, I think deeply improves the game experience. So please don't let this deter the storytellers, GMs and loremasters.
Thanks.

The universe channel's main purpose (to my knowledge) is to serve as a 'help' channel for any questions pertaining to ingame. CSR's don't use this channel to broadcast info. about ingame events or lore (or at least thats what they've told me, and i've never seen it done lately anyhow). If its chat thats bothering you , then kindly ask them to cease, or report to a CSR. If its a question(any question) related to ingame, lore or no, then its probably fair game in this channel.
My reccommendation would be to mute the channel if you dont want to hear something in it since the term "spoiler" varies quite a bit from person to person, csr's seem not to spoil things here IMO, but i think the community probably will for you whether you like it or not on occasion. I hope in the future we'll have access to more specialized large format chat channels ingame, but as stands, universe/faction is all we got.

While your trying to rewrite the rules for others, can we have the same courtesy for the current rules ? Your use of certain terms could use some cleaning up...

Universe is heavily moderated and a help channel usually people who are really rather new and may just be trying to figure how the game works are looking for things on the island. This can't be stopped. The regional I would suggest turning it off also I have only seen this kind of stuff on the island once you leave the island the regional channels seem pretty dead. The universe channel still has the same stuff though
But yeah I never asked any questions at all when on the starter island and found the questions to be quite staggering in the "where is the" and "what is" and whatnot with regard to missions etc. I dont think you can stop it everyone has their own learning curve on that stuff and I usually answered those questions myself but ignored the answers when I was learning.

I can see absolutely nothing wrong with the original poster's text.
If you are talking about the a word, this is a common usage in the UK (at least) for someone with a certain obsessiveness (?sp) about things and no, I don't think that applies to the original post. It originally comes from psychiatric analysis of character traits picked up during early development. It is, in no way, sexual in the context given.

I believe Rhaenaan was refering to :
"The Spoiler"
The one most of us are prentending not to know.
Basically, someone gave away the ending to the saga of the Saga of Ryzom.
______________
Gilmar

Sending in a Suggestion Ticket in game (for csr/gms to squelch spoiler posts much faster) might be more helpful in curbing Spoiler behaviour. It never fails to surprise me when I'd be speaking to a fellow Homin and they'd tell me that they've never visited the forums (and have no interest to do so).

Sorry, if you're reading the Universe channel... You shouldn't worry about immersion and game experience. It's is the "help/spoiler" channel...
"Where can I find weeny ragus ?"
"Why can't I extract more than one source ?"
"Where are the... ?"
The channel by it's nature exposes gameplay. Those that want to find out things for themselves should not monitor it...

I believe the original poster was referring to the STORYLINE spoiler, not mission spoilers like from guides or advice.
And Gilmar, its not the end of the Saga that news was referred to. If plans did not change, its just a part.
Who knows what the end entitles....
Then again, it can be tomorrow! lol
