Display speedy/ choppy

Hi, I've been playing for a couple of days and just ran into a graphics (?) issue.

When I log in, everything runs & looks normally until the character selection screen opens. The character animations are running at at least 4x normal speed, the highlight animation is doing the same. If I select a character and enter Atys, the speed issue continues, and I'm not able to do anything besides turn in circles and stumble around due to choppiness.

This happened once before and I just ran a data file check (no errors) and rebooted and it was fine after. I've since logged on 5 times or so with no problems until this morning. Now I've restarted at least 5 times, checked the data files twice and am not sure what's wrong.

I don't think I have a bad video card, I can run Oblivion fine and have no other graphics or processing issues outside of Ryzom.

Hardware:
Dell Dimension 8400, P4 3.0ghz, 1 GB RAM, ATI Radeon x300/x550 128MB PCIE
Running Win XP Home, SP1

Thanks for any help, I really enjoyed Ryzom the first few days I played and am eager to visit again.

Could be video heat issues I suppose.

Make sure that the GPU fan is turning smoothly.
Power down and try turning the fan on the video card with your finger.
If it is the least bit sticky then you will need to look into getting some new cooling like an Arctic Cooler.

Have you updated any drivers on your system lately?
Maybe the drivers could use an update.
Make sure to remove the current ones and reboot the system before running the video driver installer.

Thanks for the tips. I just uninstalled Ryzom & reinstalled. Everything is working fine now. If it misbehaves again I'll check out the drivers & cooling.

Thanks again :)
