why I'm starting to really hate this game

Hi all,
I'm venting my frustration here. Feel free to move on to other topics if bored.
When I started to play this game, it grew on me. The island was a welcome place, with friendly people all over. The community just rocked. Then I hit the ML around mid september. I was recruited by a Kami guild. Since then, I'm Kami in heart.
Now, let me explain it. I don't care for the religion. I don't care about the lore. I don't care if Kamis are cute furry bears or small evil dwarf like freaks.
I'm Kami because all my friends are Kami. And I fight for them.
During the few months I played this game, I had to realize that the game is fundamentally flawed. And I blame the devs for the imbalance. Devs, do you hear me? I'm (was) a paying customer. People move away from Arispotle, to Cho, or other games. I'll move away from this game too, if the devs won't fix the broken system.
What am I rambling about? The broken, instable, flawed pvp system. Of course. Do I ramble about the pvp because I'm Kami? Hmmm. YES.
I'm griefed by the fact that I has to spend twice as much time to get to the same level, just because I don't have access to cats. That's so simple. I enjoy pvp. If there's an OP battle, I'll take part in it, just as I did for the few months I'm in the game. For the fun of it, and because I want to help friends, and the people who helped me. But how on Earth can a PVP reward affect so hugely the PVE part? That's just insane. That's just insane.
I want to help the Kamis in PVP. So I need to lvl my char up to lvl250. Melee, heal at least. But how am I supposed to be competitive, if my opponents gains lvls TWICE AS FAST??????????
Thats ridiculous.
That's insane.
This huge PVP reward in PVE drives mad, and in the end, drives me away from the game.
There are so many wonderful things about this game. But this cat problem leaves me bitter and infuriated.

To put is shortly:
how the losing side is supposed to be competitive, when they have to spend twice as much time to attain the same level as their opponents?
That's ridiculous.

How bout level up to 250 also? Since when do you get no xp without cats? The game was around longer than catalysts were and players were lvl 250 before they were even a glint in some nevrax devs eye.
There's always going to be someone with something "better" than you, its always that way in MMORPG's. If it werent cat's, it'd be super rare raid drops, or pay only items that give xp boosts like are popular in most free games. Rarity and rewards are what keep people paying month after month, without dangling the shiny's in front of us, for most of us theres no reason continue playing.
People who played beta, get the rare "breakdance" emote, those who were forced to other servers, the "wayfarer" title, these are both things that i'm never going to have access to, does it bug me? Heck yea, but only because i'm jealous. Does that mean that those that were around longer than I should not have these small bonus'? Hell no. Why? Because they earned em...same way as those with cats earned them also. They're a reward...plain and simple. If everyone had them, there would be no point to them. I'd be like a high school diploma (in the US anyhow=P), just show up and everyone gets one on their way out the door. What value is there in that?

Agreed Slay13.
All of us "older Players" didn´t have Catalysers and we did all the things you did and do without them. So don´t go blaming anyone for your own shortcommings.
These Things are one of the reasons to fight over the OPs. The whole Faction vs. Faction thing evolved from it without the Devs having any hand in it.
You fight for getting the treasure. Just like in other games, where you fight to get "the right" equipment.
If everyone was the same and had the same things, what would be the point of PvP anyway???
If you´re not able to compette without "being Über" then you´re not in the right place.
As you say yourself, you dont care for anything exept PvP... Well, doh.
Ryzom isn´t just about PvP.
Byebye. And sorry that I´m very much anoyed by your rudeness.

He didn't, But if you lvl on the same creatures with the same amount of skill used, And they have cats and you don't, They will beat you to 250 with ease, Thats what he/she is complaining about... I have 2 250s, Never used a cat on either one... But I do understand where he is coming from.
Many of the new(Kami) Players suffer from there Kara friends (Or enemies) out leveling them, Even if they are acually better players...
Cats need to be removed, They are a serious flaw in the PvP machanic, and make a huge snowball effect when one side starts to win, And makes it extrmely hard, if not impossible, For the losing side to recover.

Saying "twice" is assuming players on one side uses cats on EVERYTHING and the other side gets NONE. That's not the case.
There are more cats on one side, true, but there are also more people on that side. The average cats per person can't be that much different.
Also consider all the cats used on harvest and craft levels. Do they make one side better in combat? Only if the "losing" side is wearing equipment of too low a Q and I doubt that. And cats have little effect on which side gets the bosses and supreme materials of the PR.
I can't see how the leveling rate of combat skills would be drastically different between the two sides.

This is very true. Another reason why cats actually, are a decent PvP reward. They are also a reward for NON combat classes as well like diggers/crafters. They dont have to be used for lvl'ing combat only skills. Also..many forget that there is a choice to mine materials as well from OP's, something that my guild does for the crafters.
