Elementalists Unite

Alright, I'm relatively new to the game, and have chosen Elemental magic as my focus. Since I am new, I'm calling upon the knowledge of all you casters out there that know better. I'd like some info on:
1. Weaknesses. What critters are weak to what spells. Think post 125 spells.
2. The mechanics of resists and how to avoid them.
3. Pros, cons, and comparison between bomb, ricochet, and spray effects.
Also, if anyone can suggest an efficient stanza that they've been using, that would be appreciated. I think I have a pretty good grasp on that, but another opinion never hurt.
I thank anyone for any information they may post, and look forward to your opinions.

I know there's a resistance guide floating around somewhere that i've seen on this forum before...sorry i dont have the link, maybe someone else can help. As far as ricochet, spray and bomb. BOMB!! lol its pretty much the only one worth investing in. It's great for elementalists and later if you wanna train as a healer also. Never used spray, but i've heard bomb is quite better, and richochet is buggy/not very effective.

for the sake of simplicity, use bomb. I like Ricochet myself, but its possibly less effective/reliable. Spray is the same effect as the Autolauncher... damage starts at your selected target and proceeds in a cone directly away from you. nice if you have a swarm charging directly towards you, worthless once they spread out and surround the tank/you.
And most important of all. Dont neglect Healing. Your career as a Nuker will be short and insignificant if you cant top up your healer between fights, or rezz them near instantly in an emergency.

Hey,
Think about not focusing too much on Ele and work out your Melee as well (a fast one to level is 2H sword) so you improve your constitution faster than doing only magic. Believe me you will need as many HP points as possible to max out Ele.
Good luck.

To level ele, I would suggest that you concentrate acid on yubos up to sprightly, Izams (in ascending order up to prime), Arma and Igara (also in ascending order), then move on to plants with rot.
By then you should have a fair idea of your proffession.
All the above advice is very true, but none more so than melee.
You need the HP generated through Constitution upgrades to use as :
1. Credits in Spells
2. Its easier for a healer to heal your used HP in a fight as one heal bomb can be used for Melee and Magic, with side top ups for Sap and Stam as required.
3. The more HP you have, the harder you are to kill as you will only have light armour(mostly) for spellcasting.

To add to the previous comments....
Protections from jewellery are your friend when levelling ele. Plants are generally the perfect target mob and with the right jewel set you will resist up to 70% of the damage they throw at you.
For example, in Lakelands your target plant would be stingas. They use root and cold for their attacks. Root is immaterial and wont cause you any trouble. Equipping a cold protect jewel set (one made from soo or pha amber) will give you 70% resist to their cold attack. Use rot as your attack spell and you will fly through the levels as they have no resistance to it.
The same applies to the plants in other lands, match the protection to their attack (see table in the link posted earlier) and it suddenly becomes so much easier.
Whatever your target mob is, always use the attack or spell they have least or zero resistance to and where possible match it up with the right jewel set to protect against their attack.
Have fun

Thank you all for the input so far.
I have leveled other skills, and I own a very nice set of resist jewels. I'm not looking for so much as a leveling guide, but more advanced tacticts to make myself the best elementalist I can personally be.
I love the resist charts posted, thank you Apolo.
I'm not -that- new, just looking to get some opinions on how to excell.
Again, thanks for the input, I'm thankful for the feedback.

a small note tho.. it's only stingas and psykoplas that do solely magic damage. the rest mostly do range damage and a bit of magic so medium armor would be good too

I haven't done any testing to confirm or deny this, but according to the description of AE stanzas, Spray is the only one that does full damage to all affected targets. If this holds true, it makes spray combined with careful positioning very usefull against plants.
