Ryzom

Hello everyone.
I tried running the game after downloading it, but it started installing in a folder I didn't want it to so I cancelled the installation.
But, now, everytime I double click the installer, the folder that it's in just freezes up.
It's actually been doing this to every game I try to install...usually, if I double click it and wait a while, it works eventually, but not for Ryzom.
Any help appreciated, thanks.

Sounds like your antivirus is grabbing hold and not letting go. After all it has to decompress/scan several GBytes of files. That can take a while.

Another issue may be temporary disk space.
And having these types of files/folders on your desktop can also be bad. You might want to try making sure you have these sorts of things stored in a 'downloads' folder off the root of your drive.

How do I check for and fix these things so that I may get the installer working?

Try disabling your antivirus software before installing and patching.

Normally that is via the system tray in the RH corner.

Okay, I got it installed now...unfortunely, I have a new problem.
Everytime the game tries to load, it just stays on the loading screen for ten minutes or more before telling me my computer is low on virtual memory...

So the next question is how much RAM do you have?

I think 256 RAM...
