Ok so a bit of a question for all you Master Crafters out there...

Do 100% supreme recipes degrade more than other recipes? I'd appreciate any suggestions or comments regarding this.

I've been crafting lots of HA on Cho lately...

Something that I have noticed is that when I use supreme mats (overcrafting 10-20 levels) I get far fewer fails then when I use choice mats at the same levels.

But then there are those times that you degrade like 12 times in a row... and it makes you wanna kick your monitor.

I'll keep gathering info, but thats what I have observed thus far.

My experience is all based on crafting q250 sup only weapons with a 250 craft skill. I have found mixing in exc and lower mats really helps with not getting degrades...

ok, i am lvl 250 craft in...
All trees jewels,
All trees LA,
2H axe,
Pike,
Amp, and a couple of other things, i am also a lvl 240+ crafter of some things and i am finding i get better success @ lvl 245 than i do @ lvl 250.

obviously things like LA and Jewels you craft more items so expect a higher degrade, but as i recall @ 245 jewels i was not dregradign much at all and was warned by Zysha that lvl 250 was bad, i completely ignored it and went for all 250's, bad move on my part.

So you think you get less degrades at 245 than 250?

I noticed that (not a master, but during my grinding) that between 72-78% success was where I had the most degrades. Hardly any at 60, hardly any at 70, but probably about 50% degrades between 72-78%. Just about to hit 240 amps, is 250 really that bad?

The only real time I've noticed significant degrades was when using OP tools at 250. Degrades are generally always to ql 100 and happen way way too often. It got so bad I wont (or didnt) like to do ql 250 sup jewel sets. I would do 220 instead with the occasional 250 jewel thrown in.

but you can't really AVOID capping your level, can you? or is the XP so slow that you actually have to grind like crazy to get there? I bet it would still catch up to you, especially if you're in demand, like your whole guild uses Q250 amps or something...

I've been level 240 amps for a long time, it hasn't caught up with me yet.

Of course you have to grind crafting :) A pair of q250 amps will last a player a long time, would only take a day of crafting to outfit said group of magicians in your guild and Jena knows how long they'd use those amps before they fell apart.

You end up making a lot of crappy things that no one would want, using mob dropped mats etc to grind your level, especially at lower levels. You level with anything you can get your hands on, it's why you hear the term "grind mats" a lot.

well I just remember how fast our equipment would wear out completely back when we would grind on mobs. if a whole team needs all their armor and amps replaced every day... hrm... well I guess that would require you to be a full-time crafter, in which case you'd probably have other guild members to share the burden and the XP wouldn't come as fast... :>
is it really that slow that people go through equipment even when grinding? It's been a LONG time since I was actually able to do that, so I don't remember how fast it was. Longer than a day?
