"Saga of Ryzom" Recruitment Drive

Hi All --

I am Amphiaraus, Lost Guild of Atys. I administer the "Saga of Ryzom" subforum of http://imperialcrackdown.com/forums

Imperial Crackdown is a forum for people who like advanced MMOs and who were driven out of "Star Wars Galaxies" by the so-called "New Game Enhancements", which have turned SWG from an adult-level combat and economics simulation into a childrens' game for "Barney" fans.

I am hoping citizens of Atys can post to the above forum's Ryzom section, and post to other forums for ex-SWG players as well if they can find them.

Include info on why you like Ryzom. Player hints on things like Ryzom combat, crafting, surveying/harvesting, magic, and missions are another good subject. Ryzom Screenshots and links to Ryzom videoclips will also be nice.

Ex-SWG players make ideal Ryzom players, I hope Ryzom fans are as active as I am in trying to get ex-SWG players into "Saga of Ryzom". The recent sharp improvement in the quality of Ryzom missions makes a great selling point, since SWG's missions were and are notoriously buggy.

Thanks,
Amphiaraus

Now that's a good thing to do. Whether Nevrax will be sold or not don't matter :0 The player base has to grow :P

I knew nothing about Nevrax's troubles until late at night on the day I wrote the "Saga of Ryzom" Recruitment Drive post.

"Saga of Ryzom" needs new players now more than ever.

Let's hope a reputable company takes over "Saga of Ryzom" so it will remain an adult-level, immersive MMO, and not a game for younger teenagers only like WoW or SWG/NGE.

Ummm... unless I am mistaken they are not adding new players currently. Free trial players are just that...

While I agree in the spirit of this post I don't feel that the time is right to do a big push for new players. I can't imagine that new players would get the best experience on RoS and feeling stuck waiting for Nevrax to close a deal that is keeping them from going ML. At LvL 30 I was ready to peace out. RoS is a great tutorial for magic/melee/craft and a Jena awful place to learn about foraging.

Once this deal goes through (if it ever does), the dust will settle and it will be a great time to recruit. Cho seems to have taken heavy losses the past week or two.

hehe I played SWG it was my first online gamea actualy at that point and I think that is the most accurate description I have ever seen (made me giggle that's for sure)

Always wondered what the motivation was to making an online game appeal only to young kids who have not yet reached puberty. The people with the "big bucks" to spend/waste on online games and high end computers are in fact adults who have had time to earn money and finish school. I really hope that anyone who takes over ryzom has taken a look at the target population and realizes that the largest clientbase is in fact going to be adults. (sorry kids not trying to descriminate just trying to keep my fun as fun as possible here...)
