char selection crash

I can get the game up and running until I go to choose a character then the game locks up my entire computer. The drive runs constantly. I have no other programs running and have upto date drivers for my audio and video cards. The lights flash. I can't get any other applications nor the task bar to pull up after the screen goes black but do have a white cursor. I'm running Win XP on an AMD Sempron 1.6g processor with 1214 mb of ram and a 64mb VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP video card. I have no problems playing any of my other games. I got the window size error and used the sticky instructions to correct that. I think that the problem is when I go into OpenGL mode that is causing it but am unsure. I would greatly appreciate some help. Thanks!

This is a laptop isn't it?

That's the same onboard vid as I have on mine and it's jsut too crap to run Ryzom. I crash in the same place. You might try the vid suggestions in this thread, but unfortunately I don't think it's going to work.

Ryzom is demanding on the vid card. If the vid is jsut not good enough, it won't run.

Actually it's a desktop. I have tried everything on that post already. I'll see what I can do.

That's an onboard video. Little surprised to see it on a desktop machine.

Since it is a desktop machine you should be able to install a new Vid card and disable the onboard one.
