I get this message about 50% of the time when launching the game, it goes up to checking 235 of 236 and gets a bad checksum result. It then flags whatever for patching, and gives me a Relaunch button.

So I relaunch, and play....then often as not, the next time I launch the game, I have to relaunch again...whatever claims to be patching either isn't, or this file becomes corrupted during play for some reason.

Any ideas?

Tried the Ryzom Recover tool? (Found in the client directory, Run it 3 times)

Make sure that your system is free from nasty stuff like viruses, spyware, rootkits.
Some antivirus/ security software may also take issue and decide to block the overwrite of the files to be patched
Also make sure that your CPU is not overheating.
And a final thing to do is run Memtest http://www.memtest.org to ensure that your RAM modules are okay.
