Ryzom

Hey, just thought id introduce myself. Nightwind is my usual mmo name, though I've only really played FF11 and WoW in depth. My current ryzom character is "Nytewind".

So far im digging ryzom cause the people seem so cool - i've yet to actually be called a noob as I adjust to a new setting - something refreshing to me (though i apologize to someone who helped me the other night when i made some REAL noob mistakes). Anyway, im on arispostle and look forward to starting trouble with any and all - hopefully it won't be long before i get back into the mmo swing of things.

And thanks already for everyone who answered my questions when I started -the willingness of the community to help really pushed me over the edge to get a permanent (non-trial) account after my nightmares of boredom in FF and WoW.

Welcome, Glad to hear all the great comments about the helpfulness of the community. It is something else! Just don't expect other MMO's to live up to Ryzom standards.

Welcome to Ryzom! It's a good crew, I just started recently and this place is like a comfy living room with a fireplace. Tell us about your character, what race/specialty/whatever.

Well, if you're curious...

My character is a Zorais and i intend to focus on damage dealing as a 2 handed melee character, backed up with some offensive magic. i don't plan on partying with stock classes/races. my biggest reason for this choice is that im sick of being stuck in a stock position myself, and sometimes a guy just needs to light something on fire and beat it to death.

but im a nice guy, i swear

anyway, i look forward to partying with anyone - even total noobs, because despite my mmo experience i can be a total noob myself. for that reason, i don't always seek out parties, either, so if i ever seem cold or distant in conversation, don't take it personal - generally i look forward to hanging out with new people.

now, someone break out the Tryker rum.

The fighter quests on Silan end with the award of a flaming 2-hander. There's some incentive.

Yeah it is a great thing that you don't have to be a cookie-cutter class. Nothing to stop you from being a battle mage or a paladin or whatever, who does some prospecting and crafting on the side.

I plan on doing everything. And taking my time to do it too
