What mounts are in the game, and what the requisites for getting one? Is it purely a money thing, or are there level restrictions, or what?

Yep, all money. They range in price depending on toughness and you have to feed them (which also costs) if you plan on moving it around.

There are mounts (you can own 1) and packers (you can own 3.) The lowest level packer (slow speed low endurance, people say it's best for leaving in the stable for much-needed storage) is 117k dappers. You don't have to feed them if you leave them in stable.

You can view their inventories (from the Animals window or as a tab in your inventory) from anywhere, but if you want to access the contents you would have to go to that stable, or have it following you around.

I haven't checked into Mounts yet.
