Ryzom

As there really isn't a decent straight forward source to get information concerning Saga of Ryzom lore, I have gone and requested that a wikia be setup for Ryzom. The address is here:

They just set it up this am and are ironing out some of the kinks. So if you get errors just try again.

A few guildlines to this:
1) This is for the comminuty. Meaning that it's meant to be a resource for anything relating to the game. If you think something should be there, add it!

2)This is not for advertising. So PLEASE don't create pages that are biased or that are written to get people to play the game, that is not the purpose.

3) PLEASE help build this thing. I plan on doing some of it, but can't do it all myself.

4) See number two, it needs to be repeated.

5) If you are the leader of a guild create a page about your guild.

6) If you create a page link it in alphabetical order on the main page. I will be putting the main page together to look better, but for now that will have to do.

Finally any suggestions on how to improve this or what information you want on there, post here.

Acy I think the difference is that this is a full wiki devoted to Ryzom. Unlike the Wikipedia pages which are just the main pages. I think that linking the Wikipedia pages to this new wiki as a more focused source of every little detail would work

I hope someday we have something like this...

Exactly. For example in the wikipedia page you can't have a page about a particular guild in ryzom. This new wiki will.

Or another example would be to have pages concerning the history of all the outposts. You can't do that on the wikipedia page.

That is the goal with this new wiki. It runs on the same software as that one. It just went up this am, so I haven't had the chance to make it nicer looking. However in order to get something like that we need people to start creating articles and putting information up there.

Ok for those who didn't quite see how this would be different than wikipedia, I spend sometime today collecting and creating a layout of pages. If you go to the wiki, you will get an idea of what I want to do here:

I wonderful idea, nothing creates a complete, concise database better than a wiki. Anyone is unfamiliar with the wiki format I encourage to check it out, all pages within the wiki are editable by any registered member. It's a self-policing player created information database and if used, can become the be all end all of game information.

And what can be done with a community/fan wiki: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

The community and it's dedication to the wiki makes or breaks it however, and it can take a while to get off the ground. With dedicated leadership, and as great as this community seems to be, I'm hopeful

You don't have to be registered to edit the pages, anyone can do so. Same with updating or changing them, anyone can do so.

And I would just like to reiterate what pahya said, it is going to take the community to make this work. I am doing my best to get things started, but there is just too much for me to do alone.

We need to start somewhere and that is what this is all about. So please help in anyway you can.
