I'm not sure if this has been suggested before but wouldn't it be nice to see dyes as a separate option when crafting armors? I look like a member of a rainbow foundation with so many colors on me. I spent some time foraging the whole island searching just for a specific color.
I like the idea in Guild Wars where they mix 2 dyes to give a unique color.
If dye will not be an option later, is there a guide online that can tell me where to find materials with stats and colors?

(hover over the little hammer icon and you'll see the colours of the different grades).
In time, crafting isn't a random scramble for mats like at first, you'll learn where to get material xxx that's colour yyy, and also how you make an item turn out to be yyy colour overall (hint: it doesn't require 100% of any one colour).
I don't want to give away the secret, unless you've really tried and not figured it out

. It's fun to discover things in crafting on our own

Thanks for the links.. they're helpful. So, how does one determine the output color of the armor? Is it whatever the dominant color is?

At armor, in case of some colors being used equally, it's what you used as lining that matters for the product's color then.
