Everytime i play my characters armor and other players armor appears either black or white. Not all of them, but most. I run a Intel Express 945GM chipset. I checked the other posts and ive tried lots of combinations but none of them seem to work. I have all the latest drivers installed and if someone could help me get my graphics card to show armor as it should i would really appreciate it.

The Intel integrated video chips are not suited to heavy duty 3d gaming.
Force OpenGL and disable all of the advanced gfx is about all that we can offer.
Get the latest drivers from
http://www.intel.com and that may help some.

I have the same problem on a MacBook, but I'm not satisfied with the answer that the intel integrated can't handle high-end graphics. If you look at Guild Wars... there are no problems graphically. The same with WoW and Oblivion. In fact, the *only* current game that I've tried out on my MacBook that has this problem is Ryzom.
We cannot use the latest Intel drivers because ours are specifically designed for Apple's Boot Camp; using other drivers would break everything. In fact, I just updated to the newest drivers to test them, and now Ryzom's graphics are squashed and garbled. Updating the Intel drivers on a MacBook is a BAD idea.
Now, I'm not a paying customer (although I would like to be), so the Ryzom team has no obligation towards me (which probably explains why my raising this issue elsewhere was ignored), but I feel that the least they could do is not blame potential customers' computers for a problem that only exists in their game.
Mac users have only recently been able to play MMORPGs other than WoW and ClanLord. Of the Mac users with Intel-based Macs a rather sizeable portion of us have MacBooks, which use the integrated processor. The Ryzom team is missing a great opportunity to bring in potentially hundreds of Mac users starving for an intelligent, high-quality MMORPG such as Ryzom.

This has absolutely no effect on the stated problem. Users with this problem may as well keep the advanced graphics turned on, because at least then the rest of the game is still pretty. Also, one can't get to the point where one sees the white and black armor issue unless one has already forced OpenGL.

MacBook should have GMA 950 graphics ? it's advanced 3d functions (T&L) is emulated in software.

according to intel, oblivion does not run
(and according to intel, there is long list of problem games)
but about Ryzom... have you tried to set desktop to 16bit and run Ryzom in OpenGL and windowed mode ?
edit: bah... seem that in windows it's not supported (16bit color depth). Linux and wine works great.. go figure
