Patched and patched, and now first stuck foot in the starter area on free trial. Gotta say, the look and mood of the place seems to me I will like this very much.

Started a Zorai on Arist...I forget the name of the server, her name is Ashah.

(I had the glitch of nVidia drivers defaulting to OpenGL and giving about half of everything white texture, following a sticky about it in the tech help forum and switching the config to Direct3D fixed me right up.)

I had to log without doing much but fiddle with key settings and things, but the graphics, music, and all very much remind me of Anarchy Online (sci fi mmorpg) in the sense of wide open spaces, georgeous skies and a feel of being "there."

I'm amused to observe that the day and night cycle seem to be determined by when the local star passes behind a root ;) would seem to me then that day and night vary in length quite a bit?

Anyhow, it looks great, spent a lot of time in the character creation reading on the 4 races and playing with appearance. This is going to be fun :)

(also liking that at least at first, even with a lot of other refugees and buildings and npcs around, I have the settings all the way up at 1600x1200 and it plays well. Though I have read some comments that the graphical demands of the mainland are higher. I always like to turn it all the way up then scale back if needed.)

Actually the sun or star or whatever it is becomes brighter, then fades. I don't think anyone's exactly sure how it works.

Welcome to our little root-ball and enjoy!

Welcome welcome to Atys! I hope you enjoy your stay here. If you're on "arist" lol, be sure to take time and meet up with Uyare a bit more. She's an interesting character, and a Zorai as well. I look forward to roleplaying with you!

I could swear I went through the config setup and first and indicated that I am well over 13 years old, but for some reason trying to set up my board profile, it keeps saying I should enter my parent's email. (even when entering the data that I was born in 1963.)

I'm 43 and my mother is 83 and I'm not sure what she would make of a confirmation email from Ryzom.

Anyone know if there is a place on the website I can set myself as 13+? Or do I have to do (or redo) it through the game config interface somewhere? (I'm at work now.)

Tried adding your own email address as the parent/guardian's email?

Welcome to Ryzom! :)

I'm having the same exact problem with the e-mail thing, and it STILL won't let me change it, though I specifically stated I was my true age of 20 years...I put my own e-mail as the parent's e-mail as well, like you said, but I still can't get it to change over.

try posting in the support forum or going into klients. Hopefully one of those avenues of approach can get you fixed up.

Well, I mailed the admin some time ago....they still didn't fix it....I guess I could try again, though.

I've long since given up on being considered over 13 in the system XD
