Kitin Invasion 'toned down'[Cho]

Post by totnkopf »

I logged on Tuesday afternoon and discovered the kitin invasion. Following the tip on the load screen, I visited the Kitin Watcher of the West and started the kitin pieces missions and earned the first title after turning in 50 pieces. I slowly began gathering the next amount needed for the next title. I get to 150 pieces last night and I log off....

I log on today to find that the Kitin invasion mobs have been 'toned down'. Apparently 'toned down' means practically eradicated.... I found 12 in Cities of Intuition... 12!! thats 36 pieces (maybe a few more if I get lucky and get 2 pieces on some of em). So that makes the 250 title a challenge... but the other titles aren't even an option any more. Theres not enough time between trekking between spawns (took 5 mins of walking around to find another spawn), killing the mobs and waiting for them to respawn (takes 10-15 for them to respawn) for anyone to get the higher up titles.... looting 6k pieces is out of the question. The amount of time it would take to loot them all is laughable.

now I realize that newbies were having issues with the invasion, but how is 12 mobs in a region even qualify as an invasion anymore? I can't hunt the higher level ones since I'm low level... I can't find enough to get the event titles, least not in the amount of time before the event ends... so I fail to see how this is a compromise with the newbies. Eliminate around the starter towns, maybe, but the whole region has barely any in it making it impossible for those us who enjoyed the invasion to get the rewards from it.

so my suggestions (forgot to put them in after all that...)
*increase the invasion mobs again, but in places away from the starter city... actually make it look like an invasion, not some kitin that got lost.o

or

*reduce the number of kitin pieces needed for the title (fewer mobs should mean fewer pieces needed, right?). As it stands now, I have a snowflakes chance in hell at gettin any of the titles after the 250 pieces.

Im playing on arispotle, and as far as ive seen the mobs arent in or even close to the main cities anyway, so i dont see why they needed to be toned down in the first place.

For christs sake, what sort of an invasion is it when the kitins reconsider, and weaken their own numbers xD

Thats because towns are more accessible/less distance so the ones around there get killed first and with the respawn rate being much slower than normal mobs it takes a while. :)

There WERE tons yesterday... after the toning down, they're miles apart and very few per region.

An hour of 'hunting' (really its 55 mins of running around finding the damn things then killing them in less than 30 secs...) and I got 14 pieces....

This event was going so well and was something I was truly enjoying... then it crashed and burned.

yea, I understand that the noobies were dying, but it should have been a compromise with the event. the 'lost kitin' we have now isn't an invasion, nor an event... they're about as common as the kami adept/karavaneer guard NPCs walking around
