The last 2 weeks on my account reactivation was great. The new island was fun. Except for some server issues and and a few game play issues all was fine.
Yesterday the kitin invasion began... Kinda gimped the whole day. But hey its a holloween event no biggie. Came back today and they are still there? Ask what was up with that and was told it goes on for a week.
What are they thinking? Its a new "low" pop server. Your lucky if there are 4 people in your area or logged into your guild at one time. So your options are to ask/beg folks to clear areas ( has to be higher lvl folks that have trekked ). Search for a group for hours or simply not play.
I love to explore and solo dig/fight. Kitin invasion makes that not possible.
With all the new accounts coming in you would think someone would have thought out the impact this may have on newer players. A lvl 150 combat player can easily clear an area and work on lower skills. A lvl 50 has few choices ( find a group or do not play ).
I wish you all the best...
Thank You
Garand

While I agree that maybe they should have excluded Cho from the invasion because of the low levels or tone down the Kitin for that server. You have to understand the the patches are for all servers and is very hard to exclude one server from the patch.
But also on the other side of the coin some of you from Cho may also want to partake in the festivities and get new titles and such. Oh BTw did you know you can get OP mats and Cats from the kitin you kill. So excluding you from the patch may have caused an uproar about that as well. The best I can say is sneak around them and go about your buisness or at worse do someting else for the week and come bcak after it is over.

Killed enough kitin of all levels to get master kitin hunter for myself and kitin hunter for several others in my guild yesterday and I have yet to see a single outpost mat drop. We've gotten flowers and cristals but no mats... are you sure about the mats? Because it would have to be an incredibly bad string of luck for us not to have gotten at least one op mat out of all those kills...

I'm not really a combat char on Cho yet, but I'm having a blast with the kitin invasion. It makes trekking around a bit of a challenge (which is both good and bad) and also really gives an ominous feel to the jungle.
Enjoying it greatly and hope they do it more often!

As a new player and subscriber, I was wondering if the developers were planning on doing anything about the fact that MANY new players bought just recently and went mainland, the first day i go mainland i rack up 10 deaths worth of DP, I should not HAVE to work with other people in any game, in fact I did work with my 2 other friends that just subscribed.....had you simply put the kittin in slightly more out of the way locations, and allowd a general path between newbie areas, maybe I would not be seriously considering un-subscribing......I hope they know they absolutely ruined the game for new arrivals to the mainland, and I would like to thank them for ruining this otherwise beautiful, inovative game....
EDIT: And on a side note I was level 40 in every original branch, i have been spending the last few days foraging in town, only able to leave when my friends are online.....yay

I think it'd be even more innovative if they didn't give a ****. Atys is a wild, vastly-untamed planet and we are not invulnerable to being invaded to the hearts of our lands by giant genocidal insects. There's even a memo about this on the front page - it says "life is tough on Atys." Live with it; embrace it.

Well Kat you have to realize that not everone wants nail-bitingly difficult adventure from the moment they log in until the moment they log out. Some people do actually play games to relax, not to tense up. (I happen to be such a one.)
I think cancelling over a 1-week event is a bit overboard, but I also don't think it would've been too much to ask for them to tone it down on the new server a bit.

Okay, good to know Kat, however i believe it might have been more prudent to have as thier little "slogan" Death on Atys is repetative. Let me think here....does it say game breaking halloween events will just happen to coincide with the date you subscribe....no...no, I do not believe so, however if you would point me in the right direction, I would certainly be forever in your debt......oh wait, did I say yours? I should have said MINE....10 deaths worth can be more than you know for a newbie that would like to lvl a little bit.

10 deaths at low levels is nothing... I know, I've racked that up pretty regularly since Cho opened (gotta love trekking). It takes 10 mins of hunting/digging to burn it all off. No biggie.
As for events like this... embrace them. They're a rarity and something that you'll long for when they're not around. Whining that you couldn't get xp for a week is pretty lame... if you can't notice the bright blue mobs, then I suggest being more cautious in the future. Its possible to do everything you could before, you just have to be a bit more cautious and actually take time to set up yur hunts, not just go running willy nilly into a spawn and expect to be ok.
