Greetings homins,

I bring you Tidings of a village in the old lands, lost in the time of the great swarming, and recently rediscovered.

He-Lian lies in the borderlands of old Zoran, and was lost, behind the lines of the advancing Kitin horde during The Swarming.

What happened there in that dark time and why they did not escape is unknown, their fate lost to time and history but brave homin may be able to discern what occurred there.

Dare you explore these lost ruins from times of old? If you unravel the mystery, will it be safe to have the knowledge? What of the stories of ghosts and of the kitin that have nested there? A sharp blade and a stout heart may see you through...

(This is an R2 scenario and will be available throughout the day on Halloween at various times. The scenario is meant for small groups of homin so only a few will be admitted to the scenario at a time. Please refrain from passing on information about the scenario to others until after Halloween!)

Hmm.... Any plans on opening this scenario when people in North American TZ PST will be able to play? The last opening you have is PST 5PM, which is when most people get off work, and then have to travel home. 1 HR later would suffice I think. I don't wanna be the whiner here, but I haven't ever been able to go to all your special events for this reason.

I cannot pretend to have uncovered all the secrets of He-Lian for the kiten lurking there were many and strong, and my companions were few. I had even less time to study the scraps that were found for as my party was preparing to assault the boss kitin, time for me seemed to freeze. When I found I could move again, I was back by the stables in Zora.

The accounts of the village residents last moments before the great swarming mostly match the stories I heard in my village before I left for the new lands. While the visions and scraps of writing were poignant, I'm sure they were doctored to serve some purpose of the current heretical regime in Zora. One record had the doomed villagers praying to the kami, Karavan, Ma-Duk, Jenna and Tryton to save them. Since the grand heretic Hoï-Cho did not claim to learn of Ma-Duk till after the peoples who sheltered with the Karavan emerged from the prime roots, these villagers could not have been praying to Ma-Duk.

If anyone who uncovered more of the secrets would care to reveal what they learned, it would be appreciated. Perhaps, with more study (uninterrupted by kiten), we can determine which "revelations" are true and which were doctored, and maybe even learn what our rulers are plotting.

Watchtower Journal
It has become clear that the war
against the Kitin does not go well.
Even the Fyros fall back on every
front and it cannot be long until we
too see the Kitin scourge. We can
only hope the walls hold and keep
them out.
2:
Clear Ambersphere
*Through the ambersphere you see
the battle-lines of old, the wall
falling to pieces layer by layer as
the great Kitin clamber over their
dead kin to tear at the walls and
the defenders. The tide of Kitin is
endless, the battle is hopeles*
3:
Undelivered Letter
Dearest Daughter, the wall is not
going to hold against the Kitin for
long. The Kami, Karavan or Tryton
may come for us soon and I must
stay to repair the warrior's
weapons. Hide in the goo, the Kitin
will not follow and you will be safe
- for now.
4:
Hasty Scrawl
We tried to barricade ourselves in
where Atys herself creates walls.
They have not breached our
barricade, they have tunneled. I
hear them scratching beneath us.
There isn't much time.
5: (box near kinchers)
6:
Battered Ambersphere
*The image is grainly and crackly
but you can hear chanting and see
the villagers are praying, praying to
Ma-duk, praying to Jena, even
praying to Atys herself, to no
avail... the doors break, screams,
blood, blackness... silence*
7: (box near boss)
8:
Faded Parchment
The Kitin have not left, but nor will
they enter. The goo is affecting our
minds. It grows harder to think
each day as we slowly go mad. We
have... eaten the fallen. Nobody
came. Nobody helped us. We are
lost.
Goo Zombies killed us.

Homins, our intrepid explorers have spent many hours searching the lost village, and can now bring you the various letters, messages and objects that were to be found scattered there, make such sense of them as you are able….

Watchtower Journal

It has become clear that the war against the Kitin does not go well. Even the Fyros fall back on every front and it cannot be long until we too see the Kitin scourge. We can only hope the walls hold and keep them out.

Clear Amber Sphere

Through the amber sphere you see the battle-lines of old, the wall falling to pieces layer by layer as the great Kitin clamber over their dead kin to tear at the walls and the defenders. The tide of Kitin is endless, the battle hopeless

Undelivered Letter

Dearest Daughter, the wall is not going to hold against the Kitin for long. The Kami, Karavan or Tryton may come for us soon and I must stay to repair the warrior's weapons. Hide in the goo, the Kitin will not follow and you will be safe - for now.

Hasty Scrawl

We tried to barricade ourselves in where Atys herself creates walls. They have not breached our barricade, they have tunnelled. I hear them scratching beneath us. There isn't much time.

Battered Amber sphere

The image is grainy and crackly but you can hear chanting and see the villagers praying, praying to Ma-duk, praying to Jena, even praying to Atys herself, to no avail... the doors break, screams, blood, blackness... silence

Testament

The Kitin have breached the defences. Our hopes lie with the powers. They have not come. We have taken up arms, tools and daggers. The children will hide in the water, and we will fight. Hope is all. Maybe those who fled to the goo yet live.

Faded Parchment

The Kitin have not left, but nor will they enter. The goo is affecting our minds. It grows harder to think each day as we slowly go mad. We have... eaten the fallen. Nobody came. Nobody helped us. We are lost.

Strange Device

'Momo' 01A - Height of subject falls between 'Frahar' and 'Gibbai' hominids. Psych...indicates extreme pride...they have been disputing...with 'Homin' settlers and...wiped out....they fight on despite losses and...estimate extinction within...cycles.

Momo Model

Within the case is a slightly battered model of a Momo. Made of unfamiliar material the model depicts a tall, pale, hairless primitive with bulging pale eyes and a well developed (for a primitive) cranium.

Scribbled Note

Zai-Shu, take this box and hide it away from the main village. The Kami entrusted us with this knowledge taken from the faceless ones and it must be preserved. It may be why we have received no help. Ma-Duk watch over you.
