Ryzom - Suggestions

Okay, I see a lot of great features. I mean, GREAT. This game, though seemingly not as popular as other games out there, is fantastic. But, as always, there can be improvements. This is not bashing, just friendly suggestions.

Terrain Navigation - Okay, I'm not sure if its JUST ROS, but I have to say it. You can't really walk near the trees, the barriers are pretty far out there. Plus, all those cliffs and stuff that you can't walk off, or things you can't jump on.
- Jumping - Yeah, make jumping. But make jumping dependent on your backpack space, and weight, on how often you can jump. Also, make jump sap out your stamina. Or, just make it so that you can jump every 30 seconds. Something like that.

Chat - Why cant you have tabs for party chat, guild chat, and the like? The universe chat gets annoying because it sometimes drowns out what your team or guild might be saying. Its sort of frustrating.

Make bigger world bosses - Yah, rly. Like, WoW style. Things like Azuregos and Kazzak. Make a godzilla like being spawn, and it takes say, a guild or two to take it down. Then, have heralds go around spouting those guilds skill. It will increase name recognition.

This is just a general question - Can, say a bunch of Zorai, or a guild opposed to the Matis, assault the Matis capital? That would be badass. Though REALLY annoying. But I like the world type pvp.

With provisions for preventing people from jumping all over the place "like freakin' kangaroos," I agree, that could maybe be nice. And I feel the tree collisions are oversized - sometimes source nodes appear just inside the collision so you can't reach them; plus I'd love to be able to sit right next to a tree.

Right click on the chat window, up next to the User tab. :D

Right-clicking, and hovering-for-tooltips, is an excellent way to learn about the game's interface.

There's bosses with dozens of minions, and there's invasions with hundreds of "monsters" (giant genocidal insects: the only real monsters in the game: everything else is simply an animal) and a few invasion-leader bosses.

Kamist and Karavaneer characters with faction-PvP tag enabled have done some fighting in Yrkanis (Matis capital) before.

I actually like the idea of Monster sized creatures showing up on rare occasions. I never really played WoW, but in City of Heroes, every once in a while (like once a week or once a month), some giant monster shows up somewhere. A call goes out, and everyone in the zone comes to take the monster down.

It can take 30 people up to an hour to kill one; the monster "cons" to be equal to each individual, ie: a lvl 30 guy hits and gets hit by a lvl 30 monster, and a lvl 50 guy hits and gets hit by a lvl 50 monster.

It adds a bit of unusual fun, and brings the people closer together. I think it would be fun in Ryzom too.

You young homins have not seen a Kitin invasion... It's not about size, it's about what it takes. 2 teams cannot take down a Kitin boss during an event... it takes us ALL !

If people want a challenge they should orgaise a raid on underwood woe, I've wanted to do one for so long >.<

Yeah that's right, we want SoR to become like WoW, that why we are all here. If you like WoW so much go play that!

If I seem irritated and aggressive, it's because the wowification is creaping in everywhere. Just because 8 million people like to follow yellow markers to get a sense of achievement does not mean we have to have it everywhere!!

lol very true them invasions are crazy

also we just had a few similar ring senarios with exactly the same sort of thing was good fun

i have no wish to be a kangaroo however

Actually I just sit in my corner, sucking my thumb, huging my blanket and quietly sniffle the frustration away... *sigh*

As the Opener was nice about it, I´ll break my rule not to participate in such threads anymore and try to be nice too.

Folks, I can in a way understand that you miss some features that WoW had, but please, please, pretty please realise that not every game out there has got to be WoW to be any good.
Yeah, it´s true I envy the funny dance animations of WoW, but jumping simply isn´t nessesary, it annoyed the hell out of many people in WoW and would do so here too.
If you´ve never seen some of the challanges in this game, like the realy bosses and a Kitin-Stronghold, who are you then to complain that there are no challanges?
Please get to now the Game better before trying to WoWificate, (nice word btw :D ) it. *sigh*

And it realy IS a rather strange thing.
Many people come here claiming to be fed up with WoW, but then begin to complain that this is in fact not WoW.
How come? Why did you leave WoW, if you obvioulsy liked it?
