Hi
Ive downloaded using bittorrent, but when I try to run the.exe, nothing happens!
Frind of mine downloaded using filefront (or similar) but when it finished after 3 hours, he got the same thing.
No error messages, just nothing happens.

Not even sure where to go with this - any help greatly appreciated

I don't know if it's feasible for you, but if your connection speed allows, you might try to download again, directly from Nevrax.

Maybe I was too I quick with my previous comment. I just downloaded the installer myself to see what will happen, and after launching it, it takes over two minutes on an otherwise idle AMD64X2 before anything happens, even the explorer seems to be frozen - welcome to the wondrous world of multithreading, multitasking computer OSes .
So, depending on your hardware setup, maybe you just need to be patient. Ryzom is not a hasty game

I remember, that I experienced the same phaenomena. But then I remember that my virus scanner was still running. When you start to execeute the installer, the whole file is scanned recursively, so if it finds archives in the installer, the archives will scanned too, and so forth.
I think each file contained in the archive will be scanned several times, before the installer starts to extract it.

Good thinking. You made me curious, so I ran the installer with the virus scanner service stopped, and lo and behold! it shaved about 5 seconds off the process, so it's now just about under two minutes

Any updates from the OP? Did you manage to install?
