Wow, I must admit I'm a little disappointed. Much of the potential appeal of the Ring is missing for me. Prescripted "missions and quests" are all well and good, but what about Capture the Flag? King of the Mountain? An arena with special, custom rules? Player interaction has always been what made Ryzom unique for me and many others. Episode 2 did get a little out of hand, but that does not negate the fact that rule based, organized PVP can be managed with a little thought and planning.

I'm not talking about a slashing gankfest, but it seems to me some PVP would be very desirable in certain types of Ring instances. Nevrax, what is holding you back from making the option available?

PvP was never planned for the initial release, but along with foraging its being worked on currently. (post of Marjo's kicking around somewhere stating this)

Its one of the things they are currently working on. Not holding it back, just one of many features to be introduced over the next few weeks/months.

I had read early on that it wasn't planned for the initial release, but I had hoped they were teasing us.

yeah, a fvf pvp arena would be a great scenario if we could schedule a royal rumble maybe once a week or so for an hour. Then all the pvpers from all the servers could lock swords/run from spiffs ranged weapons

I'm thinking Red VS. Blue Capture the Flag would be great. That or a sort of "Team" of the Mountain scenario similar to what we saw in the faction PVP zones during temple construction. That was probably the best all out PVP experience most of us have had on Atys.
