Ok, I played this game a long time ago and loved it...But either SWG or WoW distracted me for awhile and I forgot about this game. I just got an e-mail saying that my account now has a 16 day trial, which reminded me of the game and how much I loved it...

Now my questions are these,

1. Does patching seriously take so long? I have been patching for about 3 hours and its hardly 1/4 of the way there.

2. I have been reading to forums and I have gathered there are only 2 servers...is this correct? If so is there a distinct difference?

3. Is there still a community to this game? Or should I expect to log on and not see anyone for awhile?

That pretty much sums it up off the top of my head, answers would be appreciated.

Things have changed a lot and been added to a lot, especially the ring. I believe there is a newer client out there on bitorrent which needs less patching but yes, it'll take a long time to patch if you haven't gone for that client.

There are only two International English servers yes. There is also a German and French server. So that's four servers. There is no longer a seperate American server though.

Yes there's still a community.

Welcome backk!! :)

Best way to do it is download 1.6gb installer from here, use a download manager to prevent interuptions and cuts.

yes, there is a community a very very nice one at that :)

Welcome back to Atys. If you liked the world before, I believe that you will find that although many things have changed, the fundamental aspect of Ryzom, the community, is still there. There are many faces, new and old alike, but all of them I have come across have been kind. They still hate Trykers, but they are kind. :P I hope you enjoy your stay here and find it a most welcoming environment.
