This is something i have really been thinking about and i would like to get some feed back from other players in hope that the dev team will help us with it asap. I know they are busy working on things with the ring but i think this can be added without much effort.
>>> Ryzom is a great game with all of the changes they have made like the new newbie island. But when players leave this island alot feel really lost and if you dont join a guild right away its very hard to see all of the great people playing this game. Alot of new people think that the community in this game is very low because of how spread of everything is coming from the island where they allways seen people.
I think one thing can change this and also a few other issues. This would be to add a "looking for team" window. Devs have come up with a great chat system so that you can speak to all players in your area when you want to find someone to team up with,But only thing with this system is that if there is not anyone near you then your out of luck!
If the dev team was to add a window that all players could see that showed players looking to work on a skill it would help the community alot in more then 1 way. Crafters would enjoy the fact that other players would have to spend a little more time upgrading there gear because they gained more lvl's. Small guilds that do not have large numbers of players could also use this window to fill there teams. Guilds looking for more players could use this window to meet more players. Players are on all the time and would like to work on a skill only dont have anyone to work on it with.....players lets have feed back would you like to see ryzom have a "looking for team" window??Leave feed back if we get a ton of good feed back on this the devs will read it so post something. And thanks a tons guys and gals for your imput.

the return key is your friend

Use Region chat and I think you'll find that you get decent teams pretty quick. Faction chat also works pretty well.

That's a long story to ask for a LFT/LFG window. (made some enters and bullets for ya

It would be a nice feature but it would one step closer to dumbing down the world. To find a team to hunt and have fun you need to put in a bit of effort imo, make friends, run around a bit to find people who might need another etc. Not lazily open window, click tada, team. It's to easy!

p.s. And making a thread with a topic that does not describe the contents of the thread is bad form ... ESPECIALLY IF YOU USE CAPS

I dunno, i think its a good idea. And some good points are raised in the original post.

sicxsicx, take the comments about paragraphs and naming your thread in a positive way, we can be a bit grumpy sometimes but it makes it better for everyone if your stuff is easy to read. And 'plz read this' subjects are very, very bad. I just skip them on mmorpg.com

I like the idea as well. With Atys being as large as it is, it can seem empty for new players upon arrival. I don't think such a feature 'dumbs down' the game at all, but rather provides a tool for people who don't have the time to spam every /region channel in Atys for a team. :)

An LFG channel and a Crafters channel would both be welcome additions. Region is nice but I know I'm not the only one who jsut misses things said in it at times.

A Crafting channel would be great for finding people who make stuff though.

they do come off a bit harsh now. The post was edited a few minutes after Prahas post to include a few line breaks. Before it was a solid rectangle of text... kept getting lost in the lines :p

All of the above issues could be solved by simply having an Open Universe chat (would prefer it was limited to mainland though) that would allow people to look for teams , advertise their wares, etc. I just fear it would become Flamefest Channel since both factions would have access.
