Looking for a guild

Hi there,
I'm new to the mainland, just arrived this past weekend and have decided it's time to find a guild. Things are awful quiet around Fairhaven, would be nice to have people to chat with, hunt with, play with.
Let's see, I'm a Tryker named Stugots, still neutral but leaning towards the Kami persuasion. I have no interest in rp, although it doesn't bother me. I'd prefer guild chatter to be ooc. Currently I'm working on my melee fighting skill, but I intend to dabble in offensive magic and harvesting as well.
I live on the west coast, USA, so would ideally like to find a guild that has people online evenings and weekends PST. I'm also very interested in pvp, so a guild that actively is involved with any aspect of pvp would be a plus.
And finally, because I am so new to the game, a guild that is patient with newbie questions would be nice
I'm happy to provide any more information. Feel free to contact me here, or in game. Thanks!
-Stugots

Hi Stugots,
Welcome to Atys!
First guild I would think about would be Team Spirit, not sure if they are still recruiting tho. Another guild that does of PvP is Aedan Artisans, but they are very devote karavan followers.
Also worth checking out might be Guardians of Jena.
I hope that helps a bit.

Welcome Stugots!
I notice you said you were leaning towards Kami but might have your arm twisted so I'll throw the Reapers in as an option.
(link in sig)
We're a friendly Matis based guild but accept people from all over (in game and out) including many Americans which may help with your timezone.
Good luck!

Thanks for the responses so far. I talked with Faa the other day and Team Spirit is not currently recruiting.
The more I read about the lore the more I think I really would prefer a Kami guild. If the perfect guild comes along and is neutral or Karavan, then I could be convinced to change my mind.
I saw the Dragons of Shadow recruiting post and it looks like you guys have a great thing going. But it's perhaps a bit too much rp for my taste - I noticed that you prefer all guild chat to be IC. I respect that, just isn't necessarily my playstyle
Thanks again for the responses so far!

You might look in the the Apostles. They are a great bunch of people. They are Kami, based in Pyr (Desert). I'm not sure on the time zones, but I think it may vary, I'll let an actual member correct whatever I say that is incorrect. I believe they PvP when the mood hits them, and RP every now and again, but they aren't "fanatics" like some (no offense to any RP fanatics). Eh, I'd say talk with Jackoba or Tyilin when you can, they should be able to give you more info.

Covenant may be an option for you... we're Neutral (currently) and Matis based. We are still relatively small, but we're close, friendly, and we have a few US West Coast players.
Contact me in-game if you are interested, stop by our forums (link in sig).
Regardless of your choice in Guilds... welcome to Ryzom!

First of all, welcome to Atys!
Secondly, we are harvesters and crafters primarily, who hunt and mage to hone our skills for more harvesting and crafting, since the best materials are often found in the most dangerous places. We also have members who focus on melee and magic to hone their skills for the protection of the guild and its members.
We have different levels of members and forming teams within the guild or out is primarily member driven based on experience desired and timezones of members or others available so that the appropriate levels are matched up. Our timezones are primarily American, but we have members from around the world, so someone is usually always on. We tend to recruit one or two new members at a time so that all can adjust to different playstyles and personalities within the guild. We have a teamspeak server, but participation is left up to the preference of the invividual members.
We are roleplayers within the context included in my signature below which means we roleplay our collective belief in Jena but don't require "in character" roleplay, in or out of guild. We don't require members to participate in PvP, but our stance requires that we participate in either smacking down or being smacked down by kamisits forces (ic) when necessary.
We are Tryker based, Tryker civilization aligned and Karavan faction aligned. Neutral citizens and neutral faction alignment can join us at anytime. Neutral citizenship/Karavan-faction aligned can be members of our guild as well. Non-Tryker citizenship/non-Karavan aligned cannot be chosen here, plain and simple.
We don't do cold invites since we feel, as a lot of Atys guilds do, that each player needs time and research to make the most effective choice and decision about guilds as possible for enjoyable game play. Who you play with on a daily basis is just as important as how you play daily, so check all the guilds out to make sure the needs described in your post above will be met to the majority of your satisification.
Wherever you land, as there are many great guilds here (look at guild list too) to choose from, both large and small, welcome to Atys, and may your stay be as enjoyable and as long as mine has been. And your in-game would be helpful as well.
