quick question from a noob

So I started playing this a couple days ago since WoW is getting old and I have a question about the skills. It says that you can basicaly do any track, but can you do all of them? For example, if I wanted to max out ranged combat in one of the specialties, could i do that and still max out say, one handed swords? Do you only get points to buy stuff with up to level 250 or do you get them until you get to 250 in every possible track? (like maxing two specialized types of armor or something like that) Anyway, it's a good time but I just want to know if I should be saving my points for when I get off the newbie island to spend them in ranged combat or if i can get plenty of them once I get there.

All of the skill trees are seperate. So working 1hand sword, 1 hand mace, 1 hand axe and getting all 3 to 250 is possible. You can master every one of the trees in the game (no ones done it yet). SP is a problem at lower levels, but at the higher levels you'll have plenty (I have over 2k on harvest and magic SP).

You might also want to know that Ranged combat is a bit weak at the moment. Its not a realy damage dealer and can be a bit frustrating as a main DPS skill

Thanks a lot, I was wondering if it worked that way and I never found anything that specifically said one way or another. I had just got my first skill above 20, ended up being crafting since I went from level 19-21 in everything from turning in a quest. I had played SWG a little in the past and although it had a similar approach to experience, you couldn't do everything. Anyway, thanks again :)
