From the looks of the message it may be that you have video driver problems.
Here is something to try.
- Upgrade to DirectX 9c if you haven't already
- Get the latest drivers from ATI or from manufacturer
- Remove all old video drivers and related stuff using the Control Panel and Add/Remove Programs
- Remove the display adapter from the Hardware Device List
- Reboot your system now
- Ignore the 'Found New Hardware' messages
- Then run the video driver installer
