What is the point behind Cho?

I tried the news page, it says check mondays news, but I cannot access it from the link given?
I always assumed that Ryzom needed new players and had a rather low population of players, is this not the case?
It doesnt feel overpopulated, so if its not because Arispotle is running out of space, is it a dedicated server for PvP, RP or Ring maybe?
I cant see a reason for creating a new character there, it's not like some games where you can only have one race/character per server.
If these aren't the reasons, I cant see any advantage, rather, I see a disadvantage, whole guilds that have no OP, will hive off to Cho to get OPs for themselves, not that there is anything wrong with that per se, more of a case of screwing the Arispotle economy over in a big way.
Can some kind soul enlighten my dim intellect please?
Thanks

There is a point behind Cho. And that reason is one of the main reasons I have returned.
On another note: It is my understanding that Cho is a mirror image of all the other servers. Hopefully Cho will be left to evolve on it's own and this silly server trade will get shut down. Otherwise I fear it will be all for not.

Here is the official statement:

Cho was supposed to be another new server, that would accomodate the hopefully incomming new players from the proposed "R²-Rush".
And has not gone live for supposedly the exact reasons you stated.
Form the news found here :

You should have a look once in a while
EDIT (10.03): We won't open Cho. A few issues regarding the game experience of players on Cho made us decide to postpone its opening for a few days. Moreover, opening a new shard doesn't mean that we will merge all the shards together. This is
not our intention. The new shard was meant to help us welcome new players.
Oooh, and look what just came up :

I tried that link earlier, but I got an error, it works for me now thanks.
I still dont see the reason behind Cho there, if its to cater for the vast multitudes coming to try out the Ring....all I can say is their optimiism know no bounds

I copied it over onto the newspage on Covenant's Guild site (some of my Guildies visit that rather than the main Ryzom site).

cho gives everyone a chance to start a fresh, people who have played certain races or fractions in the past can start a new on a server where no one is high lvl, and everyone has an equal chance of progresing. i love the idea, best times ive experienced is the process of getting to a high level rather than being high lvl (not saying it dosnt have its perks)
