Crafting Limitations???

Hi all, I'm back after a 9 month absence. Getting my head round everything I've forgotten & trying to learn the new stuff :)

Whilst server down I want to do some number crunching.

If what I ask has already been covered I apologise & please just point me to the relevant info.

When I started, Oct 2004, it was said that there were enough skill points to buy everything in all branches EXCEPT crafting. It was said that you should buy everything that was in crafting & harvesting from the harvesting branch but that there still wouldn't be enough skill points to craft everything for one race (yes, I know there are good reasons why a character may not want to craft everything for one race anyway) and I now want to work out whether this is true.

Since I haven't got to high quality in many branches I don't know some of the SP costs & where the various branches may split into different legs (twigs?).

Can anyone supply a few basic facts & SP numbers like:-

1.What is the SP cost of basic, MQ & HQ plans and do they apply to Weapons, Armour and Jewels.

2. Do the MQ & HQ kick in at the same lvl in all branches &, if so, what are those lvls.

3. I think I know how many weapons (including 5 range & 15 ammo types), bits of armour (including shields) & jewels there are but if anyone knows of a definitive list please point me at it.

Many thanks as I'm sure answers will be forthcoming.

Oh, and............. it's great to be back :)

Hi,

30,40,50 and they apply to Weapons, Armor and Jewels, as far as I know. Ammo is 40sp each type, Living Weapon plans go for 100sp

Level 50 for MQ plans and HQ/Living Weapons at level 150.

6 1h Melee: Dagger, 1h Sword, 1h Axe, 1h Mace, 1h Staff, 1h Spear
4 2h Melee: Long Axe, Long Sword, Long Mace, Pike
1 CC Melee: AMPs

6 Light Armor: Boots, Sleeves, Gloves, Vest, Pants, Casterpants
5 Medium Armor: Boots, Sleeves, Gloves, Vest, Pants
6 Heavy Armor: Boots, Sleeves, Gloves, Vest, Pants, Helmet

2 Shields: Shield, Buckler

6 Jewels: Earrings, Bracelet, Ring, Anklet, Diadem, Amulet

6 Ranged: Bow Pistol, Pistol, Bow Rifle, Rifle, Autolauncher, Launcher. Each with 3 types of ammo. Bow pistol and pistol ammo are interchangeable as are bow rifle and rifle ammo.

4 Races + Kami/Karavan versions of OP equipment. I think there are two OP plans for each tool, melee and ranged weapon.

Oh, and............. Welcome back :)

There might be some errors in this, but this is how I recall it at the moment

Since Trini was faster I'll just add:
You want to be spoiled? Then be spoiled and >click me< (the OP items are missing, though :p ).

Welcome back, btw :)

Thanks to both for those answers.

Just so I'm sure, xolghost, are you just saying the OP items are missing from the web site you pointed to. Or are there additional plans to buy for OP weapons?

Add even tools to your last question and my answer is: yes to both :D
Hey.. you'll find out soon, really, don't worry :)

*just hopes the Ballistic site won't suffer again, now that we're all clicking*

There are additional plans, that have a special slot for OP mats, that provide the items with special abilities.
And now as I write this, there are 3 generic plans (Buckler, 1h Axe, Bow Rifle) that can be aquired by doing rites.

As far as I understood it, it is not the BM site that causes the problems, but the other sites that are hosted on the same server.

And to complicate things still further.

I think the hp, sap & focus upgrades had to be bought from the crafting branch. Correct? - &, if so, what was the SP cost.

Was there anything else that needed to be bought from Crafting branch &, if so, at what cost :) If the game was simple it wouldn't be as interesting!

I think is 40 per boost but can't remember for sure.

Crafting only one thing (sword 2H for example) might not be enough to get all boosts and weap plans but if u craft a little (not even to 100) other things you will have enough SP to buy most of the weapons plans..

So if u lvl cleverly you will always have enough SP coming in to buy what you need imo.

Just to add a minor thing, there are largely enough craft skill points (not at the beginning tho, you need to level quite a few branches to high levels) to buy every single pattern, boost, skill upgrades, etc. Just as an example, I have around 4k-5k spare craft points and basically left to buy:
- Ranged and Ammo patterns, including OP ones
- Ranged Weapon, Ammo and Shield crafting upgrades, for 4 races
- a few high quality patterns I am not lvl 150 in

what I am not buying at the moment is either because I am not interested yet (such as all races ammo crafting ugrades), op tool plans for ammo crafting or simply because I am not high level enough (e.g. lvl 240 shield crafting, medium armor high qual)

and still more than 10k potential skill points to gain.
