Ryzom

Hi,

I've tried several times to install Ryzom under Linux, and I have been searching most forums for help.
My system is Ubuntu 6.06 and I'm using wine to run the setup.exe file. I have full admin rights (run as root) but still I get the message.

This is an attempt of reinstall as I was in the login page of Ryzom last night (but got stuck with checksum error), now I cannot even get the game installed *sigh*

I did read your linked pages, it says I may not have the right priviliges or permissions, but that should be ok as I run all installs as root (admin rights) - or am I missing how permissions work with Wine in Linux environment??

Wine might explain it... yet I have to admit that I'm not too far into Linux.
There's a thread, you'll have noticed it already, about running SoR on the UNIX derivates. You might browse that for a hint: [FAQ] Ryzom in Linux (The Unofficial HOW-TO).
The other possibility is to simply run the installer on a Gateszilla and copy the entire installation path to the Penguin, SoR doesn't need any installing routines and works being directly executed.
