So i am in the middle of another 11 hour download. there are no stores that have this game in stock in my area. what can i do there has got to be a quicker way to get this game on my computer, im using a dsl connection, after the first download i dropped my firewall and virus protection. please help if you can.

try the torrent, it will be faster if enough ppl are seeding and you have things set up right. Not sure about the # seeds however as the install has changed very recently.

I am also having this problem and It's happened twice wich is very annoying. I read that firefox downloads this well but that is what I am using so I don't know what's going on there. Kind of a bummer really. I am trying once again through Filefront we'll see what happens.

Ok, since there always seem to be some problems with the downloaded install set, here's a small checklist:
  • Do NOT download with Firefox/Mozilla
  • Use a download manager (there are some free and good ones out there, eg. WhackGet)
  • Disable your AV while installing (you can scan the file before installing if you don't trust it)
  • Make sure that you have enough diskspace for
    • your system partition
    • your partition that hosts the temporary files
    • your swapfile and/or diskcache
    • your install destination, ofc ;)
because it will be way more than 4 GB to handle.
If all these steps are followed, but the install still insists on being corrupt, try disabling your software firewall as well (only) to install. If it still insists, it propably is corrupt after all and you'd have to reload following the above or using the .torrent.
The good thing: once you have it installed, up and working you won't ever need to install again - just zip the install folder, burn it and copy over the next time needed. Ryzom only stores the last used logon name in the registry.
Good luck :)

Firefox download manager is fine if your net connection is clean.
I have downloaded the installer multiple times using both IE and FF with no issues. The main controlling factor is reliability of the network. If your LAN is prone to spikes and dips then you should definitely use a download manager or Torrent client.
