Zerlin, The GM

Well, if your reading this post, you either know Zerlin is a dictator of a GM or your curious why someone would say that, either way your here to question why this was said.

I recently stumbled upon this game only last week, because of a tip from a friend in europe, and decided to check this game out to do a write up on it, as almost no one in america has even heard of this mmo, and yet its been out for years.

I decided to see why it never got any publicity.

Now I know why.

I tried to get some player feedback about the known bugs I found, and was told to list them in the Universe channel... after the GM saw what I had to say he immediately global muted me.

Seriously.

And then decided to verbally flame me over the universe channel.

I have over 100 bugs I found in the game called Ryzom... and tried to get some answers only to be shut down, immediately.

To all you people who PAY for the game, I thought you'd like to know this.

Maybe this is why it never made it in the US, who knows, but I can tell you with support like this, the executives of Ryzom are lucky to have a job.

I hope to see alot of posts and see this deviant GM brought down, then maybe we can discuss all the bugs I found ( mostly in questing, some in charater creation, very few in item creation )

Zerlin... you need to learn the players pay your salary, as well as everyone on the Atys team.

Which?

The amount of bugs? Because I've only run into one in three months of playing and that was in a quest and only meant the kill counter didn't count down and the quest would still finish. Compare that To owh lets say SWG and I can't see how anyone could say the number of bugs is a problem.

If you mean the heavy moderation of the universe channel then I'm actuelly pro that. It's there for answering specific questions not general discussions or general chat. I don't know what you did that you got muted but I'd guess you'd monoplosied the channel with a discussion of bugs to the level the GMs felt you were distracting the channel from it's intended purpose and were warned before being muted which is only for a little while anyway.

I'm going to bet you get alot of posts defending Zerlin as the customer support in this game is the best I've ever seen in an MMO with responce times to tickets being very fast.

I'm sure you'll be able to have a discussion of the bugs here on the boards if you want. I doubt this thread with it's confrontational thread name is a good place for it though.

If you think this game has bugs go check out SWG! I have ran into maybe a handfull of what I'd call bugs here, most of them very minor i.e. haveing to log out to get a mission to finish, and I have not as of yet ever logged into Ryzom and had a hot fix for something drasticaly wrong. I can't say that for SWG and I was a paying player for 34 months! :( It seemed like every upgrade or update there was something wrong and most of the time players on thier test center would see these and point them out to the devs and the issues would still get out to the live game cause the devs didn't listen to and/or care what the players told them. And by the way the population of U.S. players is growing here. As far as Zerlin goes not sure why he did what he did and I have no means to judge with out his side of the story so can't agree or disagree there, but everytime I ran into him on the newbie island he was always very helpful as well as all the other gms and guides! :D

While I do sometimes think the GMs are too visible at times. Would you rather it was like that other game that makes l33t kiddies scream WoW! A place where you never see a GM and when you do try to talk to one you would get a better conversation talking to the washing machine. A place where they just don't seem to care.

If you were muted I'm guessing there was a real reason for it that is not clear in your version of events.

Zerlin can be extremely heavy handed but nobody, so far, has gotten muted or slammed for anything less than a deserving reason.

The two perennial appeals of Ryzom have been the support and the community, it sounds to me like you broke one and got slammed by the other. Your use of the term 'Nazi' and your public trolling through disatisfaction don't exactly speak much for you.

Maybe some of those bugs you posted were exploitable?

Also, posting bugs in the uni chat is some what , and can be taken as if, you are basing the game or tying to spam people with reasons why not to play it.

I think a forum post would have been better, but even then...

What sort of feed back did you want other than "yes, that’s a bug"?

Is your story about the game? or are you trying to do an expose on the bugs in it.

Because, I have seen one bug in my entire time playing, and it was like the poster above said... the # in some missions on the Island some times doesn’t go down when you kill or do that task, but the mission does keep track and closes when your done, its just a visual bug.

Humm... thats funny, i'm in game for almost a year now and found nowhere near 100 bugs, only a very few, they didnt kill my gameplay fun, and the few that i inquired about were adreesed by he GMs in a friendly way.

If that posting shows your usual discussion style, i cant blame Zer or anyone else for muting you.

Glo,
from a country where calling somenody "nazi" is considered extremely rude and can lead to court.

Is it possible that you failed to read the pop up message that clearly states the intended purpose of the Universe channel?

Post your supposed list of bugs on the forum here and I am sure you would get answers from players. If you are truly writing a review for a bonafied news source, I would expect you could go to Nevrax directly, or the support team directly to get a real contact that would be happy to answer your questions.

:) Have a nice day.

P.S. Nazi is a very inflammatory word. Maybe you could use vigilante in the future.
