If it only crashes as it tries to load your character then it may be that the textures for the region your character is in have been corrupted, or perhaps your character saved data. Try renaming the Save folder in your Ryzom folder - if it still bombs out then try the Check Data button at the login window.

Then look at Klients live chat support.

Yep...
First check if you have enough diskspace available - for the installation partition as well as the partition your windows has its swapfile(s) on.
Then, before/when logging in, hit "Check Data" - if you haven't already.

If that isn't followed by repatching a few files, you might delete the whole contents of the "unpack" folder within your installation folder. However, this will most likely end up with the client repatching a lot of game data files.

Good luck.

I've only been back about 3 days and each day I have had to install what seems to be the same patch?

509 510 511 512

Saying Im downloading the first patches for Ryzom, is this going to be an ongoing thein, every day I have to patch? Thats crazy if that is so >.<

the patches you refer to are patches related not to "ryzom" but to the ring the editor that's about to go live and 512 apear to be the last on in that series.

But its the same numbers each time I patch, thats what is annoying me. :(

Fair enough if its supposed to do that, I'm just hoping that I am not downloading the same stuff, over and over again, because it is not patching my game properly :)

The ring patches don't have patch notes in the launcher so that's no indication, it's when the size of the patch is always the same you have to wory :p

as for not patching properly if you have a corrupt install check the technical support forum for a detailed description on how to fix that.

each number is actually a diff patch but they bunched it all together in the same patch notes. basically it is one big patch broken up into chunks and issued over a space of about a week. here is more info:
