Does each race have its own starting area? I have made one character from each race and they all start in the same area but i have recently seen maps of 4 different starting areas...

Am i missing something? and yes i just became a paid subscriber to the game the other day.

The different races all start in Ruins of Silan, but when they leave for the mainland they are separated to their race's hometown.

Also there used to be different starting area's for each race before the mainland instead of te Ruins of Silan but the Ruins changed it so we all start on the same island.

The maps you have seen are of the original starter lands. Each race used to have one each, but that was recently changed so that everyone starts from the Ruins of Sylan. When you go to the mainland, you are sent to the capital city in land of your race. It's only then that you go your seperate ways.

Fyros => Pyr
Matis => Yrkanis
Zorai => Zora
Tryker => Fairhaven

Basically, the old starter islands seemed a lot less populated because all the new players were split between the four of them. They improved the start up experience and put everyone in one place.
