Few noob questions.

I am currently downloading this game and had a few questions, mainly about the group mechanics. In addition, i was curious about the avg. length a fight goes.
I come from eq1 where fights/kills took a bit of time. Im not a big fan of killing 10mobs per minute. So how is the fight time?
Second, i was wondering about grouping. Do you need to have a healer in group, along with tank? Or does grouping not take place much in this game in order to take down bosses, or just normal exp groups.
Thanks! (will be refreshing looking for comments, ect)

A fight takes as long as you want. If you're looking for a long fight you take on something big, if you want to kill 100 mobs quickly you take on little ones.
As for grouping, it can be pretty much essential to have someone else with you either to take things down faster or to keep you healed. Some people might try to solo in this game, but I imagine it would be verrry difficult. Most of all you want to find a good guild who will group with you whenever you need it. There are tons of nice ones out there.

How long is a piece of string? A lot of fights, in the starter area especially, will be over in mere seconds, but it depends on so many things I won't even begin to detail. A boss fight can take a half hour and more.
Grouping is not necessary on the whole but makes a big difference to survival and is essential for healers to earn experience. Highly recommended.

Hmm ok cool. So if one was fighting a mob equal lvl, solo.. What is an approximate time length involved.
Another question- I love dungeons, or just "close-quarter" environments. I hear there arent any dungeons. What can you tell me on this?

There aren't any dungeons. There are a few "mazes" which involve passages and restricted movement but nothing to induce claustrophobia, imo. And see my answer above also.

LOL No! This community gives the game what it needs, a community

The developers give us what they like now and then and we kick and scream but actually, secretly, like what they do.

To answer your question... Note that I have not ever thought to actually time it. But a single fight with an even-level mob will probably take on the order of say about 45 seconds, plus or minus 15 either way. It will depend how much it parries, how much armor you have etc. It also depends what absolute level you are, since at level 150 sword you can take more beating than at level 15 fight.
