Hey all,
I'm Ben, 24M. I've played several MMRPG's in the past few years, I tend to enjoy PVP more then anything else. I'll be ingame in an hour or so when my DL is done, so if anyone is interested in providing a dedicated semi experianced pvper and all around cool cat a home.. hit me up.

Hello and welcome to Atys
Ryzom isnt a big PVP game, and if that is your main concern, then Im afraid you will be disappointed. The pvp is consenual...except in the PR's area's and the battles for the outposts.
But, I hope you will enjoy Ryzom regardless...its always nice to meet a new homin.

I read a little about the pvp, it says there are areas where it's open pvp. I understand that in the game in general you can't kill whoever you want, but I'm I mistaken by thinking there are pvp areas other then the battle grounds?

Thanks for the pvp info, it's seems like it's worth a try. I like the game so far, the community is awesome.
Right now I'm up to 10+ in magic harvesting and fight. About what do I want to get these up to before I leave the starting area?

Its really up to you, you can progress on the mainland at any level. Just come over when you feel comfortable or have done all the missions if thats your thing.

Yes, it's adviseable to do all the missions as they are good tutotirals to learn about the game. After that, come over when you're bored of the island. Don't worry about your level.

As kind of an update, I've reached level 20 in magic and crafting. I'd just like to ask any guilds who might be interested in having me, what they needed as far as a role player.
I've been looking at being a healer, I don't see any group heals or anything in the healing tree so I was wanting some advice as too if I should mix healing with defensive or offensive magic or what a good spec would be.
Also, for crafting what type of crafting specialty would you be looking for? I'm not looking to make money, I'd just like to know what guild needs would be before I start training up a tree.
I live in the united states under CST(GMT-6), I work days so I'm usually home around 4pm and play anywhere from there to like 9pm on the weekdays. On the weekends it depends what's going on, but alot of the time I play in the morning afternoon and sometimes nights. I'm not a hardcore gamer like I once was, but during a week I'll most likely be putting in about 10-15 hours depending. Like I said in one of my first posts, I enjoy pvp more then most other things, so I'm looking forward to defending or taking outposts and being at war. I've got ventrilo and TS, I consider myself a top notch pvp'er, I've led a successfull kos pvp guild in the game shadowbane and in world of warcraft (didn't like the pvp). All I want to do now is have a little fun, I realize pvp in this game might not be a major part but as I understand, there will be some, and that's fine with me.
THE END.
P.S. As soon as I finish the last couple quests for magic and crafting I'll most likely be headed out of this new area.
