If I choice to play with a Matis or Tryker character the monitor gone black and become instable... after few minutes an error message appears and the only way to exit this trouble is to press "reset" button... (alt+f4 and ctrl+alt+del doesn't work, mouse arrow disappear...)
I have a P4 3000 with 512 mb ram, 30 gb free on my hd and a RADEON ATLANTIS 9200 with 256 mb on board... latest drivers and directx installed...
I have tried to decrease level detail and bla bla bla but the story is the same... I think that maybe the water animation (from screenshot I've seen who Triker have city on the water...)... but doesn't know why Matis... in the Island works... when I go in the mainland (without water...) and exit from the city... BOOM!
:°
fix or help me please :°°°

Switch to OpenGL, so far no one has come up with anything solid that would make the game stable under D3D when running low-end radeon card. Not even Nevrax.
Latest drivers won't remedy a thing. Someone should try older drivers instead..

Got an answer for you, my friend, from our experience in the french forum.
Have a Radeon 9200 as well, exactly same problem as yours, the solution which works 100% for us is the following :
Switch the game to Open GL
Disable Vertex shaders and AGP memory options
Lower if necessary the quality options (texture, density, landscape, fx, character)
And when entering the game, say NO twice (one for Direct 3D, one for AGP).
Enjoy.

Appreciate the answer, but didn't I just mention in my post that switching to OpenGL alone will fix the crashing issue? My gripe here is that no one has came up with something solid for Direct3D, which I want to use since it's so smooth compared to OpenGL (yes, OGL is sluggish for me even in lowest settings).
Be that as it may, you can't go wrong with commenting this issue. This must be fixed.

something else to try is disabling the advanced directX options in the ryzom config program.
