Isn't faction PVP in opposition with rites?

Just thinking that with all the OP, the fame and factions restrictions on TP, the factionned fame system and so on, we may never see the rest of the rites coming....

Lets say I am Karavan (for sake of arguing: im actually 0/0 :) ) and worked very hard to get 60 fame with Kara for PR access.
After I while, I want to see something else and discover Atys through rites.

Some of the Zorai and Fyros rites need over 30 fame to activate if I am not mistaken, so I would have to "defaction" and work Kami fame to over 30 to be able to open rites of the Kami sides...
(might as well go to 33 and buy 100 of each Kami TP before returning Kara... lol, or push it to 60 and do same with PR kami TP... Please can I have extra packer for my new 2k TP tickets :-0 ).

Just to say that I have difficulty to see where the rites fit in with the new system, especially since it takes ages to raise fame so high (ages like few RL playing days i meant :) ).
Are we putting bashing ppl above learning?
Seems that the sword could win over the pen this time :)

No, nobody will give his enemy secret knowledge. It makes sense.

Choosing one path over another should have consequences, as a declared Karavan and Tryker citizen I personally realise this will cut down my options with regard to Rite etc and beleive this is as it should be.

Somone choosing to persue knowledge above faction and citizenship will have a difficult path to follow but it should be possible.

it makes sense that factioned players cant do rites from the opposite faction.

Also worth noting you can be neutral civ and kara faction and thus have 50 fame with all races and do _all_ the rites.. I hope they bring in Kami and Kara rites at some point soon, and rites needing >50 fame

If you're not in a faction you can get the fame up to 50 (both civs and cults).

Choosing a faction leeds to restrictions and opportunities, this is how it should be. The problem with rites is that there arent any, well some but after the initial release there haven't been manny more. Imo, the rites where to be further developed into a sort of bonus sytem for every race/faction so when choosing citzenship/faction you also choose a specific set of bonusses. Then the PvP fad happend and nevrax forgot all about them, then R2 came along, etc.

p.s. Besides the focus rites are there any usefull ones ?

Some generic crafting plans which are now replaced by OP plans I presume:
Plans which can use any mats from any territory..

I saw the rites more as educative for homins: History of Atys and so on but yes, I understand that it can be splitted by faction though I am not sure was the initial plan..

Concerning the 50 fame, I am gonna have to have a look at that :) any info would be welcomed...
Can I be 50 with all races and stay 0/0 K/K ? :)
Any link to which tribes affect which fame would be very welcomed

I think it would be technically possible, and a great achievement. Different missions alter the fame in different ways. The tribes with a satellite are Karavan and the ones with a kite (or is it a flying Kami?) are Kami.

This is exactly where I see it too.

If you think about it, it should be a trade off. There should be >75 civ fame rites also. I really think this is the intention, and we should see the Rites coming in a bit.

They are a great part of the game, and hundreds of Rites would do a lot to make missions a bit less of a drudgery.

The fame requirements on the rites are on civilization fame. So you don't have to work against your faction. Bring your civilization fame heigh enough for the rites, by doing civilization fame missions only, as far as I know they dont give faction fame since the Fame2.0 revamp.
