i know there are mounts and packies, but is there an actual skill wher eyou can control animals??

seems to me the fauna in this game is awsome, i'd be really dissapointed if there wasnt any taming.

No there isn't.

If you walk while a creature has you eyeballed it will follow you almost indefinately however.

No, no taming skills, though I do believe, if I recall correctly, it would be looked into. I remember discussion back a long while ago about a few extra "fun" skill branches.

If I recall correctly, Nillian has Zahan atleast semi-tamed, right?

<.<

On a more serious note, I'd love to see animal taming in the game. Although I seriously doubt my character would find it as appealing.

Once upon a time there was a homunculus option (or something like that) on the compass menu. So they must have planned something, hopefully we will see it some day.

Perhaps there is no taming because history has so many examples of taming attempts gone bad.

Ragus were once breed to clean out pipes. Yubos were genetically engineered to entertain the easily entertained Matis Nobles. Intelligent homin-eating plants were another Matis attempt to create something more exciting than a yubo.

Several attempts have been made to domesticate Tryker, but these have always ended when they turned on their masters.

Beware of what you try and tame, it may turn around and bit you.

And in one of the promo videos we see a Zorai apparently summoning a mini-kami.

I hope once they're done with Ring, they'll give the actual game some attention... lots of neat stuff possible/planned that I'd love to see someday.
