Hello everyone,I'm on the newbie island and have not got much help there. Where do i get armor? I don't see a merchant. I found the weapons merchant.
Also how do find out how many skill pts i have to spend? When i asked these questions on the newbie island i got laughed at. Is this how the community is here? Do i have to craft everything i need in this game? I know there are jerks in every mmo, but you don't see this much in newbie area's . Is everyone an alt or something?

Lets see where to start.... As to the Armor Merchant, Look for the Yellow Squash shaped buildings in the South part of the Camp, you will find 3 Diffrent armor Merchants, one for Light armor, one for Medium, and one for Heavy Armor.
# of skill points you have availible to spend can be found on char info screen, I belive the default is still P.
No, That is not normaly the Community, As the Training isle will have loads of "jerks" that are comming over to this game to try it out from WoW and the like and its worse since the Trial Isle is "free" thus many of the "young" kids with their 1337 5P34K hop over as a result. (no offense to those who are actualy mature intended)
No, you dont have to craft everything, Thou learning a craft Trade can help you enormously with Dappers and Trade, (thou only if you take up Harvesting as well)

The thing that's suprised me the most about Ryzom is how large the community seems for a game that was pretty much ignored by most game media outlets and how mature and friendly the community is. You have no idea what a relief it is to play with normal people after slogging through WoW for so long.

I'm actually almost ashamed that you received that kind of a reasponse on the island. And I hope I wasn't actually on (or listening to Region - I get tired of hearing about other games that I haven't played and don't really care about so sometimes just turn it off) when this happened, or I feel like I owe you a huge apology.
Some nights are worse than others for jerkish behavior. A lot of people are new players, but there have been one or two people that've come over from the mainland to check things out. And of that fraction I know one or two that have fairly sour attitudes toward some of the questions that get asked - as if they don't remember what it's like to have questions.
I hope you found some of the answers you needed.
If I'm around and you ever have other questions, feel free to send me a /tell.
