Chiang Mission Problems

Post by styr3nz »

Just got the 'Investigate the bandits' mission from Chiang the strong and I haven't a clue where to go. I've tried killing some gooheads and some chlorogoos but nothing happens. Also tried looking at various locations around the lake but no luck there either.

Where should I be looking or who should I be killing to find the bandits secret?

Kill a bandit in the ruins. There should be groups of 4 in there.

Your mission will then update.

For the bandit's secret you have to find and kill the secret bandit.
Right click your radar, click "missions", then click "secret bandit" (or whatever the heading is). You'll then find the bandit's location is flagged on your map. It'll be south of the lake amongst the cratchas.

I don't recall ever being told by an NPC about how they will flag your map for some missions. I didn't even know until someone else told me about it.

They really need to have the NPC say 'Look at your map, I marked it for you' or something. :p

why ? nobody ever reads what npc has to say.

btw, starter missions do tell what to and where to do it, but mostly only in "white text bubbles" and not in mission journal.

Actually people do. And the ones who -don't- read them, bug us every five minutes to tell them what to do/where to go in RoS. So we're actually quite relied on. ;)

I have this mission currently and when I right-click my radar, 'missions' is greyed out with no submenu. Does this mean I have to wait for the secret bandit to spawn?

Hmm, there should be an entry for the Specialist Bandit. But maybe the entry isn't relog persistant

Thanks for the reply. I logged out and went away for the weekend since I accepted the mission so I guess that's a possibility. I'll try again this evening when I get home.
What's the procedure if a mission can't be completed? Is there a petition function to raise the issue to a GM?
