Looking for a (newbie founded?) Guild

Hi all : )

Iv been dabbling with RoS since early July trying to stave off that mmo addiction until after the summer to force myself to enjoy the weather and maybe get some gardening done. So with the plan firmly in place not to subscribe until September my will power buckled and I subscribed last night : p

Now normally in a mmorpg Id read up about possible guilds and then wait to see who I bumped into ingame but I chose to be zorai… And Im getting the picture it might be a while before I bump into “anyone” never mind a recruiting like-minded guild! So here I am with yet another “Looking for a guild” post.

I am intending to play a kami zorai and ideally I’d like to take part in group PvP and RP (although its been 4 or 5 years since Iv done any RP). I do enjoy PvE in a group but that said I enjoy a group without PvE so in most games I tend to think of PvE as a chore that just has to be done. Im on UK time and trying not to play to much in the summer but come the cold months I’ll be online any (and possibly all) the hours of the clock : )

I have read through the guild listing but none of the kami guilds really lept out grabbed me by the eye lids and screamed “Join ME!”. Although Kings of Oblivion looks very active and determined and Riders on The Storm looks very mellow and has a cool name (I love that song : ) ).

What I’m wondering though is with the huge influx of new players (I could be wrong on that assumption but an unlimited free trial seems to have that effect on a mmo) are there any new guilds out there being founded by newbie players? In fact I know there are a few from reading the posts here like Karavaneer Desert Legion (witch sounds really impressive and Id be applying to if I hadn’t already picked kami) but Im wondering what others are out there? Im wondering what other guilds are still in the “think-tank” stage or who is ready to declare a new guild with a few more members?

But mostly Im wondering if anyone is thinking of making a kami RP PvP guild : )

You see I read a discussion on this board and its end conclusion was that currently there is no kami guild that both RPs and PvPs (or RPs PvP) and that players have to choose one of the two. Well like a woman in a shoe shop I don’t want to choose! : p I guess I will if I have to though

On that note (to help with choosing) can I hijack my own LFG post to ask a general RP question? (I managed to find plenty of info on PvP just browsing). Most of what Iv seen about RP hints towards happily unorganised individuals RPing together or guilds with what I think of as internal RP. But I haven’t seen anything about larger multi-guild organisations or confederations of RP guilds RPing together.

I don’t suppose there are any UO players here from the Europa Shard are there? Any who played in ERPA? Its ERPA Im thinking of (Europa Role Players Association). Witch I admit had its faults in practise but you cant fault the concept. Lots of RP guilds of any alignment all RPing together under general rules and guide lines whether friend or foe. Is there any organisation resembling that on Arispotle?

Well thanks for any answers or advice that may come my way. Thanks to anyone who can recommend a current guild, tell me about a new guild or point me in the direction of Arispotles version of ERPA. I’m off to explore the jungle : )

There aren't really any organised groups. My own guild runs a Pub Night in Thesos Bar that has people from all over Atys coming to it to RP. Mostly jsut loose RP, general chatter, well like a pub meet.

I don't know of any other regular RP gatherings.

currently there is no kami guild that both RPs and PvPs (or RPs PvP) and that players have to choose one of the two.
Well...you'll probably find a little RP in most guilds. Question is, how much do you want? Full-time heavy-RP environment, or is semi-RP sufficient?

In the former case, the only option at the moment is Seeker of the Dragon. But that is exclusively male Fyros, and I'm not sure if they intend to PvP.

An alternative is to join a neutral guild. There are several RP guilds within that category. In most of them you can of course RP a Kamist, but you cannot do the within-game-mechanics alignment rite thingy that gives you a Faction vs. Faction PvP tag and access to all Kami teleporters.

Hi, firstly welcome to the mainland!

Yup im a zorai too, i know that the lower level lands are a bit sparse of homins at the best of times :)

to take the two main topics; PvP and RP

RP: I dont know of a guild that is 100% RP. I know that there are plenty of guilds who dont RP in the /guild chat channel but will happily RP outside to the rest of the Atys. I would say that 80% of the time, if you begin to RP with any homin on the mainland they will RP back. I'll happyily RP with anyone who wants to listen, but im not 100% as i find RP losses its touch when your like 'I'm sorry that we had to duel, It was an honour to fight you' and your reply is 'pfft, next time ill own you SUCKA!' (thats an example. and thankfully only a few talk like the latter, but i think u get what i mean)

PvP: generally speaking the majority of (non event) PvP is done by only a few guilds and usually by the slighty higher level players (as with most PvP ive seen.) But if you have a heal spell. it all counts ;)

One thing i would suggest is, to try and find someone who will trek you to the other cities because its a great way to network with other players and guilds.

Anyways have fun.
