i have checked the files, and rebooted several times, however the game will not initialize, sticks on the last little box on the load screeen, you know the triangle one on the far right.

I left it for about 15 minutes.

any ideas?

oddly, i created a new char, at i got it...

could there be something up with my old one?

im going to trying logging in witze original account.

Delete the 213.208.119.xxx.cache files from the DATA folder.
Run 'check data' as you may have some corrupt files for the location where your old caharacter is located.

If those things don't work then back up your SAVE folder and then delete it.

i downloaded the game today (without troubles) and installed it - regretably i have the same problem as bra1ndg... when i run the game, the loading screen seems to freeze (somehow - although the sound of the game already starts if i'm not mistaken) or atleast nothing happens (i waited for about 30 minutes).

i already tried the things suggested by Zerlin - no success...

are there any other things, i could try to get Ryzom running?

not on wireless are you? there is some windows setting (unhelpfully cant remember where to find it) to keep the connection always active

Do you have any java running? If you have a browser, or other software that uses java (Azureus, for instance), running, close it down and then start SoR again.

thanks for your tips - but 'regretably' i'm using LAN and i already tried disabling any software, which was running in the background.

anyway, i'll keep trying...

Do you get to the character creation / selection screen ?
There is a loading screen before that point similar to when trying to get into the game as a character, but the loading screen after character selection has a pictoral progression bar. The music starts before character selection, but when you say you can hear the sounds of the game do you mean "environmental" noises like crickets and animals and effects?

yep, i'm able to create a character. when i hit the 'play' button, the loading screen appears and the progress is shown until the last little triangle - then the loading sreen seems to get stuck although the sound changes to rain, animals and sometimes something which could be some kind of digging.

Try and disable sound and/or EAX. Maybe lowering the setting for the game (done in the config, which you can find in the menu or on the login screen).

Do you have enough RAM and "good enough" graphic card/CPU?
