Hi all I have been poking around the forums this morning getting random info but I have a few questions of my own.

As a player of a few MMORPGs I tend to compare games I try out to others. This game reminds me of Asherons Call on many levels. AC was my first MMORPG. Currently I am playing WoW but am becoming tired of leveling charcaters to 60. (I am not a raider)

1. The way skills are leveled what is really stopping me from trying to master all of the crafting/fighting/magic skills? In AC you could specialize in skills giving you a quicker advancement thru them. Here it looks like it is just how you fight or forage in the world.

2. I have read how the portals work but are there mounts in this game to allow faster travel? Also I hear briefly about pack animals. How does that work?

3. Is the game pretty solo frienldy or will I do much better to try and search out a guild to make grouping easier?(All of my friend are stuck in WoW)

4. I am trying the trial on Arispotle, in your opinion is the server pretty lively? The starter isle is very busy from what I can tell over the past couple days.

5. Is there an endgame? What are all homins striving for? Why do you personally log in day in and day out?

1, there is nothing stopping you mastering every tree on atys, that however would take 24/7 for a few years, most people try out every tree, its nice to have that option and not have to do only one tree, i think it is one of SoR's strongest plus. I personally do everything but craft as i dont like it, but you can pick and do as you please.

2, Atys is massive, walking or riding a mount from place to place altho possible is time consuming so most people teleport, these teleporters are sprinkled around atys to allow easier movement over massive distances.
Packer are animals that allow portable storage for your equipment, mats and other items, bigger storage in appartments and guildhalls are perminate bases, so packers offer an inbetween solution.

3, there is no need to team at lower lvls but as mobs become harder its recomended, the community ingame is great and you will soon find people willing to give up their time to help, also harvest/craft is a solo branch, you can do that all day long with no teams.

4, The server is nothing like WoW which in my mind is a good thing, people get to know each other alot better and you recognise most people that you have met along the way, its busy enough, especially in regions or intrest for higher lvl people

5, The "end" game is different for every race and faction, the Fyros have a grudge to settle with a giant dragon where as the karavan are not happy untill everyone on atys is enslaved, these are on going story lines.

1. The only thing stopping you is the time it takes. You can master everything theoretically, its just gonna take you a _loooong_ time.

2. Yup, you can buy a mektoub mount on the mainland. They basically allow you to move rapidly (but not take combat actions) as long as you are mounted and you keep them fed. Packers are basically mobile storage space (you do need to keep em fed to keep em mobile though).

3. It is possible to solo, though some things are harder than others. Frankly you will advance much more quickly in a team, because mutual healing spells prevents long periods of downtime healing up.

4. This _really_ depends on your playtimes and location. IMHO its got a pretty good balance, but individual experiences may vary!

5. Me? I enjoy the leveling, the craft experiments, the chatting with friends, the RP events... IMHO "endgames" are dull, I like the ongoing evolving world that is Atys
