Hello,
I have a few questions for you guys.
How far can some one progress level and skill wise in the fee trial?
How many levels do you need to be able to pvp and compete with other players, level and time frame please, 8)
Is this game worth my time to try it out?
Rewards for pvp?
How does this game compair to other mmorpgs?
I have played a lot of DaoC and WoW in my day, how do these two games compair to those games?
thanks you very much for your time, I hope to see some of you soon 8)

The max level for all skills are 250. I believe you can get to 250 in free trial. However it takes a while to get to 250, so you might not make it there before the free trial runs out.

At any level you can duel/pvp. You can duel/pvp with any level player you feel like. Although if I were you I would duel players around my level.

In my opinion, yes. Ryzom is a great game with an even better community. However it's up to you, try it and find out for yourself.
As for your other questions, ask another homin. I am a bit lazy. Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.

Incorrect...but good initiative Kiwi.
The free trial doesn't run out, but since it is limited to the "Ruins of Silan" island, which has a limited level of creatures and materials, you probably can't get much farther than 50.
Ding 1000.

Grats !!
serious PvP is probably above level 200, in a melee and magic tree
while Wolfies seemed to manage it in a week (i think), probably allow a month of powerlevelling
you would also need someone to give you decent gear, etc..
basically, you would need to join a PvP biased guild that was willing to force-grow you into a fighting monster.
which is why PvP misses the point of Ryzom

You can get to around level 50 or so on the trial.
You can be a useful ish healer in PvP from about level 50, to attack magic or melee and be useful I think you'd need to be 150+. Timeframe depends how you play, whether you get cats and whether you want to spoil the game for yourself by grinding.
Yes.
No current rewards for PvP other than holding an outpost. Events that involve PvP may have some reward.
Compare to others? Mostly very different, open ended, skill based, sandbox, undirected, relatively questless, storyline advanced through live events. It's not your average MMO, you need more motivation and imagionation.
Compared to DaOC it's a lot less hackneyed, this isn't your standard-issue fantasy setting. A lot less PvP centred than DaOC as well and no cloaks, unfortunately. Compared to WoW, much more mature, much more deep, much more complex and much more meaningful.

Then despite recent changes and incoming spires, this might not be the game for you TBH.

stop scaring the PvP people away man, just because it doesnt suit your playstyle doesnt mean no-one can enjoy PvP in this game. I like you man and I respect your opinions but would you like it if I told every neutral RP newbie that they will be penalised, picked on by both side and have their RP experience ruined by others just so they dont join the game?

Just honest opinion and I think some of the PvP people would also concur that they don't get what they consider to be a 'satisfying' PvP experience out of the game.
PvP here is, mostly, 'consensual' (tagged), largely limited to OP battles, 'meaningless' most of the time - as in there's no consequences positive or negative most of the time, and so on.
I don't regard content linked PvP as consensual (Outposts, Prime Roots) but it seems that most of the pro PvPers do and it doesn't provide what they're looking for.
If this person's focus is almost entirely on PvP, as they suggest, then they're going to find the game wanting IMO, even though it has too much PvP for my tastes already, I don't think it has enough to hold the attention of PvP fans.
No agenda, just being honest.
