An Invitation to the Festival of Light

As homins have become safer from the kitin menace, and as religious devotion is on the rise, some ancient traditions are being revived. Amongst these traditions, there are certain holy days and festivals, the greatest of which is the yearly Festival of Light. Held every Jena Year by Karavaneer homins, this festival celebrates life and gives thanks to our Mother Jena, Goddess of the Sun, who made our lives possible by saving and sustaining us with light. After the Dragon lead our ancestors to Atys, He endeavored to extinguish the sunlight of Atys and reduce our ancestors to slavery in the cold and the dark. However Jena, Creator of Atys, got wind of the Dragon's plans and filled His body with eternal fire to prevent him from breathing coldness and extinguishing the living light. We celebrate Jena’s saving our ancestors that day and providing us with the living Light every day since.

All homins are invited to attend this joyous celebration of light and homin life! On Sunday, July 30th at 18:00 BST (13:00 EDT), the King and Queen of the Festival, will start leading the Festival procession from Yrkanis’ north gateway. Showering the crowds with gifts, the King and Queen will lead all merry-makers with a line of mektoubs carrying the firewine and stinga rum through the Abyss of Ichor to the festival grounds outside of the Kuilde camp in Nexus. Many competitions with large prizes are planned. There will be a race across Nexus for young homins, free crafting for young homins, ritual men's and women's armorless knifefights, line dances of the elders of Atys, a hunt-the-marauder chase game, and lastly, a team of nine combat competition for a prize of 18 stacks of purple crystals. Finally, any Festival goers who are not too exhausted by the end, may join an expedition into the wilds of Atys to search for the remains of our ancestor's cities.

Buying it in Yrkanis at grossly inflated prices, as usual! Anyone wishing to bring their packers along and sell food and drink to the Festival goers is, of course, welcome. :)

Oh!!! If only the Karavan and Kamis would sell teleport tickets for packers!!!

Hmm, and the Matis import it at ridiculous mark up from that wholesaler on Dexton street... they must be laying down a stockpile ready for the festival...

Bwahahahaha!
