Anything besides the mindless slaughter and leveling? Any special events or locations that are particularly interesting or amusign that are fun to look into?

With such a vague question you invite a vague response...

It depends on what you consider special. Are you looking into RP type things or what ? Is an event for you taking part in battles, competitions or battles of wits ?

What you call mindless slaughter, others may see as working their skills to improve their abilities... Might be culling the Kitin from our lands, so we may better live as homins... It might be killing the carnivores so that lower level homins can more safely explore the lands.

Give us something Goose, your limited post borders on trolling without content...

I guess I'm asking if there's at any point more to PvM than just leveling up. Are there any more special monsters to kill besides the usual field spawns? Like a type of dungeon or something, or an exciting event, etc.

There are frequent minor events, sometimes larger events like the kitin nest attack day-before-yesterday, and occasionally major events like the kitin invasion of Pyr a while back. All tie into and develop the storyline(s).

there are many bosses in this game, they look quite different from their species type. If you find a group that has never done it before it can be fun and challenging working out the tactics to kill the bosses, on the other and if you join an experienced guilds bosshunt you will find youself healing for dear life and wondering where the fun went.

Theres also the social/political site of the game to get involved in, tho many think this is all about PvP (its not).

levelling and killing is far from the only pursuit of this game. You just have to find some of it for yourself, or in some cases make some content for yourself.
