you need to complete to join the Karavan, since I have 3.5 weeks left I decided that I might as well join a faction so I can at least get about. However I get told that I need to complete a rite but cant find out where and what to do ?

After you have 30 Karavan fame, you can take a mission/rite from the Tryker Priestess at the Karavan temple outside of Fairhaven (or one from the Priestess at the Karavan temple outside of Yrkanis). Complete the mission and you become a Karavaneer.

There are Priestesses at the Temple near Fairhaven and Yrkanis, who will tell you, what you have to do to complete the rite. The requisite for the rite is a factional fame of 30.

Thanks guys, I have a rep of 26 atm. It seems I have lost all the rep I made when I was last on, neg and pos with all the tribes except green seed which is down from 90 to 52, the rest have all gone.

The fame of all the tribes / races / factions that you have done missions for (to change fame from its default value) is hidden, unless you have declared yourself to be neutral. If your alignment and race are undecided, you need to click the button to go neutral (I can't remember exactly where the button is, as I'm at work )

There are new caps on fame values, depending on your alignment and race. Ballistic Mystics has a table for fame somewhere on its forum, but the site still appears to be down.

The Tribal fame system was changed. The Guild component of the tribal fame was eliminated - only personal and racial tribal fame remains. The initial Tryker fame with the Green Seed is 50. So your guild must have accounted for 38 points of Green Seed fame - while you personally must have accounted for +2 with them.

Even if the scores are hidden, the tribes remember you! If you antagonized them beyond -50.00...001, they will attack if you enter their camp. If you had no personal fame with the tribes that detest Trykers, they will have set you to -66 fame and will gleefully attack you now. If you had some personal fame with those tribes, then the new fame cap will bring your fame with those tribes down to -50, which will make them glare menacingly at you, but not attack.



P.S. I think that a patch in the last few weeks has made the Ancient Dryads aggro myself and others, so I'm not sure what the situation is with the -50 skin-of-your-teeth tribal safety now. (Possibly the linkage between racial and tribal fames that was disconnected in December was reconnected?)

Hmm, if you are still in undetermined status, see if you can do the rite directly.
That would spare you to get your fame to 30. If you are a member of a guild, that guild needs to be karavan too, for you to become a karavan member.
