Hi :)

I just started the trial, but im almost positive that i wanna subscribe to stick around after reading about the unique features this game has to offer. I tried ryzom when it was in beta and didn't really see what the craze was about, now after the game has been running for a while and I got bored of all other MMOG's I decided to give this game a shot again and am loving it.

The community here is very helpful, and I hope to be a part of it.

I was wondering about the PvP though, outpost battles in some of the other MMOG's i have played, were always alot of fun and usually would happen often...can anyone give me some insight to how it works in ryzom? Thanks

Hi Gogost!

Welcome to the living planet Atys!
Outposts battles are a couple of times a week at the moment. Most of the time the outpost battles are kami vs. karavan, but you can always choose what side you want to fight for.

Sxarlet is mostly right, but you can be tossed from a defenders side if they choose :P

Most of the OP battles are among allies of the same faction, but not all. The neutrals (and some claiming to follow a faction) show up as it pleases them. Do not expect similar to raids in other games, this is more like your friends all teaming together vs. other teams. There is not one large team vs another, team size is 8 and each side will be broken down accordingly.

Coupla minor additions:

"Faction" can be confusing as OPs were originally suggested as Guild vs Guild content, but some have shoe-horned them into the faction war based on a single quote in the loading screen. Plus many people join a faction purely for the teleport pacts availability. So its a bit more complicated than pure FvF really.

Can have teams of 9 ;) you + 8 others.
